What do you think guys, should I trade the Cat for Theo? My current center situation is pretty bad, I only have Kevin Willis and Derrick Coleman. If I accepted the trade, I would probably have to drop Battier and add Bruce Bowen. So should I do it or not?
no, even he is claimed. If I did do the trade, I probably could replace Mobley by adding either Shandon Anderson or Bowen
Before you make the trade, what is your league point system? Is it head to head, rotisserie or points? What are the categories in the league? B
i wouldnt do this trade because mobley will have big numbers this year, as will ratliff, but willis/coleman isn't TERRIBLE. and Bowen is no were near Cat. If you dont do this trade and have to pick up a C, PLEASE DONT pick up Ostertag
Okay, I ranked all the players on a 1000 point scale for each catergory. Mobley FG% - 424.0 FT% - 919.5 3PTSM - 407.2 PTS - 646.2 REB - 377.4 AST - 259.0 ST - 459.0 BLK - 114.0 TO - 512.7 Total - 4119 Ratliff - if he plays 82 games FG% - 640.9 FT% - 800.3 3PTSM - 0 PTS - 427.9 REB - 643.8 AST - 126.3 ST - 268.9 BLK - 1000 TO - 380.1 Total - 4288.2 It looks like an okay deal to me, but then again Ratliff only played 50 games last season. His total if he plays 50 games is 3787. If you really think he'll be healthy, I'd say go for it. He is a FC in most leagues so he could sub for your PF also. Derek Coleman could be a surprise pick this year, so you may actually be in good shape. Who are your other guards, and would they give you good production? B
ARE YOU KIDDING ok so without mobley you are stuck with ratcliff, and anderson. anderson stuck on the knicks who are fantesy duds to begin with . then add that anderso will play at the deepest position for NY!! meanw while you have a very good guard who should be slightly inproved upon last seasons numbers. and last season he was getting 21/6/3 as a starter add ewing off the wire. ewing, sure, a has-been, but he is capable and likely to average at least 12/8 thisd season hell he may do better keep mobley in this case. its not as much about the main player involved, but its a matter of the other players that will have to shift because of them make your team better, dont just improve a position. its like cutting off your arm to feed you face or something like that any hpoo, thats just my opinion, so have fun
hotshot, Why don't you show us what your entire roster looks like so we can help better. If Mobley is your best SG, than you shouldn't be thinking of this deal. But if he is your second or third SG then it might be a good deal. How many players do you have to start? What positions? PG, SG, G, SF, PF, F, C and how many Util positions? Anyway, without knowing this, it's hard to be able to know if this trade will help or hurt you. B
Roto scoring? Definitely get Ratliff. He has a great chance of leading the league in two statistical categories (blocks & FG%). You can't pass that up. With roto scoring, Ratliff is worth much, much more than Mobley.
PG Terry, Jason (PG-Atl) SG Bryant, Kobe (SG-LAL) G Mobley, Cuttino (SG-Hou) SF Odom, Lamar (SF-LAC) PF P.J. Brown (F-Cha) F Weatherspoon, Clarence (SF-NY) C Willis, Kevin (FC-Hou) C Coleman, Derrick (FC-Phi) Util Smith, Steve (G-SA) - Util McInnis, Jeff (PG-LAC) Bench Mason, Anthony (PF-Mil) Bench Ellis, LaPhonso (FC-Mia) Bench Battier, Shane (F-Mem)
Easy decision. First, trade Mobley away for Ratliff. Then, move either Steve Smith or Jeff McInnis into the vacant G spot. ("G spot"... heh heh, huh huh ) Now, bench Kevin Willis in favor of Ratliff. Finally, move Anthony Mason into the empty Util. spot. Now, your roster looks like this: PG Terry, Jason (PG-Atl) SG Bryant, Kobe (SG-LAL) G Smith, Steve (G-SA) SF Odom, Lamar (SF-LAC) PF P.J. Brown (F-Cha) F Weatherspoon, Clarence (SF-NY) C Ratliff, Theo (C-Atl) C Coleman, Derrick (FC-Phi) Util Mason, Anthony (PF-Mil) Util McInnis, Jeff (PG-LAC) Bench Willis, Kevin (C-Hou) Bench Ellis, LaPhonso (FC-Mia) Bench Battier, Shane (F-Mem) That, my friend, is a pretty darn nice lineup. I'm not sold on PJ Brown as a starting PF, but if Shane Battier starts to turn on the juice, you will be in very good shape.
I agree with fadeaway. You are strong enough at guard to trade Mobley for Ratliff. If Steve Smith isn't doing much for you, you can always sub Jeff McInnis in for him. Since you are in one of the rare leagues that requires two centers, it is very important to have at least one center in the top ten and another that can get you above average numbers. Coleman could have a comeback year, and if Ratliff stays healthy, you'll have one of the better combinations for center. Obviously whoever has Shaq will have the best center combo, but at least you won't lose as much ground with your new lineup. Good luck, B
Actually, the Shaq team rarely ever wins a roto league. Whoever has O'Neal is guaranteed to place last in FT%, and the other players on the team usually aren't good enough to make up the difference.
Fadeaway, luckily I have Shaq in a points league, so his FT% won't hurt me at all. I just have to figure out who to draft for my first pick in a roto league tomorrow. I could still draft Shaq if I have 1st pick, then trade him for a 1st and 2nd round pick. If I can get someone to actually go through with the trade I'd be in good shape. I might have to change it to a 1st and a 3rd, but still, I could get some great players out of a trade like that. B
B, If you can trade Shaq for someone's first and second round picks, I would definitely go for that. First and third might be worthwhile too, depending on who is available. Regardless, you still have to take him with that first overall pick, but I really do think you should trade him if at all possible.
Last year I was in a Rotisserie league with Shaq and I won. Anyway, thanks guys all this really helps
