For a Rox fan, I love TMac and Yao too, but this playoff run demonstrated that both of them are not that super. Rox may trade Yao or TMac (later is more difficult) if Lakers offer Kobe. Just for the team winning possiblity, nothing is personal. But this would never happen because many others also think it will not happen.

    L.A. Lakers Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing

    Successful Scenario
Due to Houston and L.A. Lakers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and L.A. Lakers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

This is somewhat convoluted but it might just work:

Need: Athletic PF - Travis Outlaw
Snt for Outlaw using Sura's expiring contract. Worth 3.8mil but will start salary for Outlaw at around 4.9mil. for 3-4 years.

Need: Point Guard, Perimeter player who can score- Mike Bibby, Ron Artest
Trade Battier, Howard, Alston, Head, Snyder Pick#26

MLE- Varejao, McDyess or other 4/5

    Lineup:
    Yao/Tsakalidis
    Outlaw/Hayes
    Artest/Novak
    Tmac/Wells
    BibbyVspan/Lucas

Lots of money over the next 3 years but not much more than what's currently committed. I figure the Rox have a 3 year window anyway and then they'll have plenty to rebuild with.

I know we need a Pf or Pg, but that still doesn't change the fact that we still need a 3rd scorer. This is a high risk high reward trade, but I think it would really benefit both teams.

Outgoing Players: Shane Battier, Rafer Alston

Sacramento gets rid of Ron Artest and get Shane Battier the perfect player and model citizen. Plus we get rid of Rafer which the kings get a decent back up pg and we get a young talent. Flame on

^ This won't be a bad trade at all, but the Kings want to go young and getting Alston in place of one of hteir young guards won't be reassuring. Plus the the talent between the two trades is huge, Artest was a former DPOY.

No way you do a Battier for Artest trade....NO FRICKEN way.

With one potential knucklehead in Bonzi, there is NO WAY, I want the King of Knuckleheads Artest on my beloved team........forget it...that guy is a flake and his career is in serious decline......PASS.

Battier needs to net us either a strating PF or PG.......anything else IMO we would need to keep him.

Like I said its a high risk high reward type of thing. Honestly I'd do it I think Rick is the type of coach that can work with his players. Plus Artest is pretty strong so be can play the 4 every once in awhile. Its true that the kings are going young, but I don't really see anything we can offer thats better.

Now that it's official that Kobe wants to be traded, would you hypothetically do:

    1) Kobe for T-Mac, straight up.

    OR

    2) Kobe for Yao + salary fillers

Basically: would we be a better team molding a team to a Jordan/Pippen model (Kobe and T-Mac should be freakin' illegal) or in the Shaq/Kobe model (OK, Yao is no Shaq, but you get the idea).

    Inquiring minds want to know...

Shane and T-Mac for Kobe minimum. Lakers probably still wouldn't bite.
