I am not the kind of person to wish ill things upon others, but you had to see this one coming, especially after the Sacramento game. Even the Sac commentators were jawing about 2 sammiches lack of effort. Any of you who have read my posts in the past know that my pet peeve in pro sports is a whiny ass, no playin', lack of effort goof off. They have the best job in the world. Think about it, there's a list a mile long of people who would kill to get an opportunity to play pro ball for a week. Fat boy's lack of effort makes me ILL. I'm glad they cut his ass. I hope Rudy walked right up to him after the game and cut him in front of the whole team. Pig Miller shows that you CAN work hard and start in the NBA. Good for you Pig, later fat b*stard. Sorry had to throw this in...

generally if you want tomorrow's sports news today (as it relates to houston sports), simply check out www.chron.com after 11:00 PM...they usually have the next day's edition sports stories accessible around that time...

I agree with tds99 here -- the Rockets have made some awful roster decisions this season. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Hamilton's contract this season guaranteed? So they opted to keep him instead of Brian Shaw, Stacey Augmon, Matt Maloney or Don MacLean. Look at the Rockets "All-Let-Go" team this season:

    C: Hamilton
    F: MacLean
    F: Augmon
    G: Mack, Ed Gray
    G: Maloney, Shaw

Don't get me wrong -- that team is nothing to write home about, but the fact they're still paying these guys pretty much sucks.

Concerning Thomas Hamilton, does anyone think Rudy T may have given this guy too much credit by starting him for a while? I mean he is like 24 or 25 years old and this is really his first serious NBA experience. By getting the start he probably thought he was on his way and hated getting his minutes cut -- doubt he had the maturity to understand the situation. And to top it, Cato goes down and he still doesn't start. It's the right decision but he probably got ahead of himself.

Clutch, we're not paying Mack, so you'll have to cut him from the All-Let-Go team.

What's the difference, I mean, we should have kept him, just because he would have fit in with half of the people on this board's philosophy of tanking.

The only person that should care about paying those guys is Les Alexander. It was rumored that the Rockets reached a settlement with Maloney, so whether or not he's counting against the cap in the future or at what amount is still in question, I would say. None of those guys are going to affect our ability to go after free agents after Hakeem leaves. We have no commitment to Gray, Augmon, Hamilton, or Shaw after this year. I believe we are committed to MacLean for one more year, but we wouldn't have any cap room next year anyway. If your concern is these guys handcuffing us as far as free agents go in the future, I don't think that's true. If your concern is these guys being able to help us win this year, they wouldn't make us contenders, so they'd just be getting in the way of our development. If you're worried about Les' pocketbook, I'm sure he'll be alright. If you're simply against the principle of paying guys for nothing, well you may have something. The fact is these guys are simply of no use to us. We probably shouldn't have acquired them in the first place, however that would've required keeping Pippen, something nobody on the board wanted to do.

As far as Hamilton, I don't know. I thought he might've been used to light a fire under Cato by starting. I could see how he wouldn't realize that. He was showing some promise, however. Maybe he just wasn't working hard enough in practice or as the Chronicle said 'not sticking to his workout plan on occasion'.

I wonder how the current, non-injured, roster would fare against Clutch's All-Let-Go team?
