i'm pro-firing garner. i have no idea who to replace him with, but now that we're losing his little "feeling" moves aren't so pretty. this team isn't responding. somethings gotta give.

Why is Luke Scott not playing?

    What is wrong with Berkman?

Biggio needs to hurry up and get that 3k hit and then hit the bench..

OMG, Lee is a fat ass. He didn't even make it a close call on that last play. Crippled Forrest Gump could beaten that throw...

well luke could have had an at-bat today but garner made the awesome choice of pulling him back for lane because he has to have the righty/lefty matchup. no matter what the numbers say, garner's world is destroyed if he doesn't follow the lefty/righty matchup.

lane, on top of completely sucking in general, is batting 200 points lower against lefties than scott.

this probably doesn't affect the outcome of the game, but certainly **** like this adds up.

Just got back from the game. That stunk. I really thought that if the Astros could have pulled this one out, they might have been able to turn this thing around. It only gets tougher from here on out. I think Harang is pitching tommorrow and he has success against the Astros

For the 87th damn time, DD, his knee is hurt.

He should be back soon, maybe tomorrow.

He's healthy now. Today, it was a decision based on Ensberg's recent hot streak and still looking for a place to play Loretta, which pushed Lance to right. I'm pretty confident Scott will be in the lineup tomorrow, though, because he's been fairly successful against Harang over his career.

I'm thinking Jason Lane's days may be numbered. His lack of productivity combined with Lance's re-emergence as a RF candidate really limits his role, and the Astros have been hurting on several occasions for another backup infielder with speed (Bruntlett or Burke). It'd be one thing if Lane were providing power off the bench, but considering he's not, I wouldn't be shocked if a move were made soon.

He's out of options, right? I don't see many trading partners. The Astros probably don't want to lose him outright and are too big of p*****s to waive him for fear of him not making it through waivers.

there should be zero fear of losing jason lane. it's not like he hasn't had an opportunity here, and if he shockingly succeeds elsewhere, good for him. i wish him well actually.

if there isn't someone willing to trade for him, just let him go.

If somebody takes a flyer on Jason Lane, who freaking cares. He's got less value than Hidalgo had when we got rid of him (to get Jason Lane in the lineup, ironically).

He isn't hitting ANYBODY... and with Lance playing RF, with Palmeiro making too much to waive, and with Scott being healthier, they have enough options.

    Waive him, bring up Bruntlett.

I really don't care if they get rid of Lane, I just question if they have the stones to do it. We've done it before with Hidalgo but that was a different manager and different GM. How much say does Drayton have in such manners? I'm sure if he decreed it it would be done, but does he get that involved?

Well, if you believe Houston's Leading Information Source, he decreed last year that Lidge be traded. How'd that work out?

    ;)
