I was just being a dick, lol. Though, one time one of my gay friends gave me a drink that knocked me out for 3 days.

Unfortunately I will be missing ACL this year, but I think I have a very good reason. I'll be flying to NYC to see Underworld and James Holden in Central Park! :D

    Here we go...

Everyone have their schedule ready? I'm just d*mn glad to not have to venture over to the ATT stage much since we'll be toting our little ones.

I'm looking forward to Kaiser Chiefs, Killers, Muse, Blue October, Decembrists ... sorry Ziggy, Bloc Party, Peter Bjorn and John, Augustana, Arcade Fire, and Rodrigo y Gabriela. My wife likes White Stripes but the kids couldn't handle Raconteurs last year so I doubt we'll attempt it.

I'm dissappointed to see that Austin High will not have paid parking this year... d*mn. Any other suggestions? Anyone have success with the Baptist church on Mopac?

Rodrigo y Gabriela have cancelled due to "exhaustion". They were replaced by some hip-hop dude named Common. I have no idea who that is.

That church is $10. I've parked there every year. You get a shaded spot and it isn't a bad walk. The walk back kind of sucks because it's up hill the whole way.

Thought about bringing the 2 year old, but I know there is no way he makes it through 3 days of it. That and we'd jsut miss too much being over in the kiddie limits stage.

Overall, I'm still not happy about the lineup, but maybe it will give me a chance to see more bands that I don't know. I do know that we'll be leaving early on Friday. I do not want the fingernails-on-chalkboard voice of Bjork ringing in my head.

You b*stard. One of these years, I'll shell out the $2500 for one just to do it.

Of course, I need to have an expendable $2500 first.

    No R&G...disappointed.

Thanks for the info on the church. It just makes sense since you have to walk up part of the hill anyway just to catch the bus.

FYI...as much as I hate telling others...Shady Grove has parking for $20 (at least that's what it was last year). No one seemed to catch on about it and it was well worth the extra $. The walk is short and flat. The only problem was trying to get out when 60,000 people are walking down Barton Springs.

I'm going to get my armbands today. Concentrating on work this week will be difficult.

Just tried to go get my wristbands. Damn box office doesn't open until 3 this week. Used to be open most all day the week of. What's the point of doing the thing if you can't go get your wristband during your lunch break?

That was a big f***ing waste of time.

I'm still trying to work out my full schedule, but these are the bands I won't miss: Spoon, Kaiser Chiefs, The Killers, Young Love, Cold War Kids, Arctic Monkeys, Clap You Hands Say Yeah, Arcade Fire, Yo La Tengo, The National, Bloc Party, Regina Spektor, The Decemberists.

Hate to miss Ghostland Observatory and the White Stripes, but I'm have to see Arcade Fire and the Decemberists. It sucks to miss out on Muse, but at least I saw them last year.

    Still trying to decide:

Blonde Redhead / Peter Bjorn and John / Manchester Orchestra
LCD Soundsystem / MIA (not a fan of either, but I've heard good things about both's live shows)
    Wilco / My Morning Jacket

I'm really not into these Killers/Decemberist MTV-type bands, so personally I think this year's line-up blows ass.

However, if anyone is interested in seeing the greatest bluegrass group of all time, Del McCoury Band is playing on the "Austin Ventures" Stage at 1:50 PM.

Agreed, there are too many cheesy-punk bands this year which is why I sold all of my tickets before they re-released 3-day passes a few weeks ago.

I like their sound ... funny how every genre has harsh critics.

    What do you prefer?
