Everyone is screaming for us to take a PG this year, a relatively weak year for PG's. Next year in 2008, there could possibly be: OJ Mayo Derrick Rose Eric Gordon Darren Collison Jerryd Bayless Ty Lawson DJ Augustine Jamont Gordon Ronald Steele We'd be better off taking a SG/SF, which this draft is very deep in, and signing a veteran free agent PG to backup Rafer.
Yes but those are mostly early 1st picks. Now unless you are sugesting we tank another season to land a pg?
don't see how that equates with Juwon's contract. I really don't see anyone saying they'll take him til 2008-09 season starts, like a few months before trade deadline. Anyway. I've been saying we should wait on a PG next year for awhile now. No we will not have to tank, but every year the lottery is full of tall, athletic players (PF & C). Some are ready to contribute soon, but most are projects. Given how the west will be stronger next year, we may lose a few more games so have a worse pick. Even a pick like 20-23 would land us one of those PG's.
