With Oden likely being selected by Portland, that makes Z Randolph available.

I believe more importantly our team needs a solid power forward not a point gaurd?

Possibly Adelman living in Portland could convince the Rockets organization to go after Z Randolph- giving up Luther Head...

Zach is too slow to play next to Yao, who is slow himself.

You must be thinking of Lamar Oden of the Lakers.

I'm going to save you more embarrassment Kamel and edit the thread here...

I don't know, I'd be tempted to go for Kellen Durango - more of an all around game.

Not necessarily a bad thought. NOw that JVG is gone and we are not limited to the JVG type guy, we can expand the range of talent we consider.

i listened to an interview with portland's gm today in san antonio. it sounded like he was leaning moreso towards taking kevin durant than oden. reasons given were because durant is ready to contribute immediately - at least on the offensive side.

another reason given was because big men typically take longer to develop. and while, yes - oden could mature alongside roy, outlaw, aldridge and webster - he might be redundant given the #s aldridge was putting up towards the end of last year (20-10). in the end, he did not come out and say they were taking durant, but it definitely sounded like he was leaning towards KD.

Not necessarily a bad thought. He would definitely meet the third scorer criteria.

With Yao and Battier he might make for too slow of a front line.

Before making threads like this you have to understand salary cap and rules to trades. Luther can not be traded for Zach Randolph because their salaries are nowhere close. Randolph makes 13.3 millions next year and Luther 1.1 million. Even if we included Juwan that doesnt make up the difference.

Besides, Randolph is a proven 20-10 guy. Portland will not just give him away for an undersized guard who gets killed on defense and just had a horrible playoff series.

it would be more feasible to be a 3rd party in helping facilitate this trade instead of actually being on the receiving end of randolphs contract.

as someone stated before, unless youre willing to dump mcgrady or battier for one of these max contracts out there...it's just not going to happen.

If we keep Bonzi, and get Zach Randolph, we would be reassembling the Jailblazers. No thanks.

The thought of putting out a starting lineup of Yao, Randolph, McGrady, Clutch the Bear, and random Rocket Rowdy keeps me up at night because you would pretty much have to trade every significant player we have other than Yao and McGrady to get this to work.

adleman wants versitile players who can cut and attack the basket.

randolph can't play anything but PF and he can't do much when off the block.

    no thanks.

imo, we're more likely to target darius miles, who will be given away for any takers, than z-bo.

Miles might retire. I definitely wouldn't pay that much for a low bb IQ guy, who's not a team player, with a balky knee. Z-bo won't fit here either. He's a black hole on offense (when he's not jacking 3s) and he doesn't hustle on defense. There's also the matter of his huge contract. If you want someone on that team, make an offer for Outlaw. He's restricted free agent that the Blazers aren't sure what to do with, and still needs to learn alot more about the game, but he's very young (i think he's only 20) and has skills.
