Then do the board a favor and disappear.............Go root for the Jazz, they seem like your type of team anyway.

Why dont you leave my little girl out of it? Or are you teaching yours how to be a little opinioned jerk? That is a great trait for yours......

Exactly and on top of that EVERYONE (that includes JVG) KNEW if you can't get past first round you are not coming back, simple as that. JVG gets the most out of his superstars, but not his complimentary players he lacked player development that was true even during his Knicks days.

Oh and BTW they offered him a higher position, he turned it down... Can't do much more than that.

    lol. :D

    Photoshoppers?

As for hope, Grendal, I do think the coaching change does give us a little. We're heading into an offseason without good prospects -- a late first rounder, an MLE, a small trade exception and a small expiring contract. We could hope, at best, to tread water. But, with a coaching change, there is a sliver of hope that the new guy will be able to access some vast reservoir of untapped ability in our current roster and just blow the thing wide open.

les may have had his mind made up before the playoffs.

Offered him a higher position? to me, it is more of a slap in the face. But why would he take it? he has a better gig with TV.

Look, I think Les is a big jerk too, but firing JVG or offering him another position wasn't a slap in the face. The final decision was Les' to make. Very few coaches get fired after 52-30 seasons and JVG's reputation as a coach is intact. I don't feel sorry for him at all, especially since he made $20MM in the last 4 years.

Les' insulting everyone's intelligence by trying to act as if he was waiting on JVG's decision is another story. He didn't want to be known as the owner who fired a 52-30 coach and JVG smoked him out into the open. Like I said in other thread, Les brings a rake for a pile of credit and a shovel when it's blame time. I've worked with/for too many teflon coated managers and this is a sore spot with me.

ii agree with most you say.

as for the 'slap in the face' part...thats just how i feel. i could be wrong, but i think its somewhat of a joke offer to give a guy with coaching blood in his veins. just my opinion/theory.

    old coach...or new one?

i think a lot of people would say adelman is known for being an a-hole more so than jvg.

Is this the same classy organization that fired the Coach of the Year and hired a scout to coach his team? How did that turn out for ya? :p

I know we're talking Charlie Thomas here but that's the most optimistic thing I could conjure up for a thread like this one.

I'll take les over Charlie any day.
Does nobody remember the whole Hakeem-faking it situation. This is nothing compared to that. Hell, he was almost traded for Stanley Roberts

who said im not giving adelman a fair shot? i've not really bashed the guy, im just saying hes not necessarily known for being all smiles and jokes either, especially during the regular season. but unlike most, i really dont care if a coach is 'personable' while he is doing his job. thats the most insignificant criticism you can have. If he isnt 'happy' and 'optimistic' in his interviews...fine with me so long as he does his job.

I dont know adelman away from b-ball, im will watch and draw my own conclusions.

can you say you honestly ever gave jvg a fair chance? you may say yes, but my money is on no.

who said tank the season? not i.

It was a bribe to buy his silence so the announcement would be a "mutual decision", absolving Les of responsibility. But JVG wasn't going to keep his big fat mouth shut so he refused it. On 2nd thought, maybe it was an insult since Les should have known better.

well i didnt want to get into the bribe aspect of it, but you are right. At the least it was a way for les to come out looking like a saint..."look, i've got a new coach and i didnt fire anyone...lets all hug".

JVG refused it b/c it was a joke. He is a coach...i get the feeling coaches losing their job to only then watch his team from the stands. ouch.

he also refused it b/c why do that for a boss that doesnt believe in you as a coach, when you can work a fraction of the time and still make a good living doing tv work?

no way jeff was going to accept any job besides coach.
