what team will be willing to pay him after the season he had. he was out of shape and "unjured" all season.

if i were gm i'd let him test the fa waters to see what market price is on him. if his price is much lower than that of someone like mopete for example than he's worth it. if someone else is willing to overpay, then let him go.

There is no way you can blame JVG for the Bonzi fiasco. Maybe for Vspan and Novak, but Bonzi is the one who screwed himself. Being out of shape, then having messed up teeth, then having personal issues in camp was not on JVG. Then JVG plays him a couple games and Bonzi looks about ready to die and couldnt even get above the rim on a break away dunk.

Then he has other injury issues. And yes JVG sat him a few extra games, but gives him a chance to crack the rotation in time for the playoffs. What does bonzi do, he sucks, is out of shape still, then asks out of a game and doesnt show up to another before being benched for the season. How is that on JVG.

That being said, if Bonzi truly wants to come back, he is under contract and can do so. But he has no right to expect the Rockets to open up their checkbook and sign him for big bucks after what he gave last season. Play the second year of the deal and prove you are worth a long term deal at 5 to 7 million a year. And if he can find that this summer then by all means I dont blame him for taking it, but Id be surprised for a team to take that risk.

I also think so. If he wants a fat chechk, then forget it coz he doesn't deserve it at all.

If Bonzi want to stay here, he need to pick up his option. If he want to option out and sign a fat contract here, it is impossible.

Ship out his fat lazy ass. He quit on his team (our team), plain and simple. He'll do it again if we give him the chance.

Yes, there'll be another GM out there too stupid to realize the type of person Bonzi-box-of-doughnuts is. And he will pay him way too much. but at least he'll no longer be our headache.

my guess is bonzi wants to actually play and showcase something the coming season to get paid..if he goes out this year..he probably won't get as much.

Rocket always make me fell so beautiful when season begins, and make us fell so sad when the season is off.

we can't afford to use our MLE on someone like Bonzi who has a chance of doing nothing.

The only way I want him back is if he picks up his option

but I wouldn't mind having him abck

They are short on talent and short on players who can get their own shots. He moves TMac to SF where he belongs. If you can get a younger career 13-5 player with the 2007 MLE, fine. Otherwise, sign him.

We already know that it is a two sided affair- On one hand we have JVG insisting things are only done his way and no other, clashing with Bonzy and eventually telling him he could be waived and indcating there was no place for Bonzi.
On the second hand we have Bonzi a guy who had the mind set that he had lost so much money and was going to the Rockets for almost the minimum. He didn't like that and has already admitted that he decided to only give the Rockets what they paid for! Together with this during last season, Bonzi was always grosely over weight and unfit for the professional game, even at the start of last season and he made very little change in his state throughout the season.

Through the problem, which was mostly caused by Bonzi being in this position.
Bonzi is now unlikely to get a decent contract with any NBA Team, nevermind the Rockets.

Unless Adleman can cause Bonzi to go on a strict diet and training regimen for the next FIVE months, he isn't worth considering. Just too much trouble if he isn't going to be professional about his career.
Even if he does this preparation and the Rockets would like to have him back he should still play on the same contract for the second year of it and earn a better contract next year.
The Rockets Management should call all the shots!! :p

I'd bring him back in a heartbeat. Just like we thought this yr, he would solve our problem of a scorer off the bench. Instant offense and scoring off the bench, which we sorely need. He was VERY productive under Rick Adelman,k and the main reason he didn't do anything last yr was JVG and him wanting to play one-dimensional midgets like Luther.

    I think he'll be back. It would be 2 out of 4 problems solved;

    1. JVG - check
    2. scorer off the bench - check
    3. pg
    4. pf

Simple question: Did anyone blaming Van Gundy for Bonzi not playing last year, or wanting Bonzi back next year, actually watch the guy fumble balls out of bounds, play the worst defense played in the NBA since 1979, miss shots from everywhere except right under the basket, and not really work to get position when he posted up?

    Are you delusional?

Christ, I know you hate JVG, but are you that dim that you think Bonzi is in any way validated?

Was it JVG's "ego" that has Tmac saying that JVG is the best coach he ever played for?

Was it JVG's "ego" that had Bonzi come in fatter than a turd, and flaking out on us?

You are a one trick pony Amel.

JVG might have worked out if he could have acquired another talent of the very limited subset of JVG players. He was a good coach for that small subset of NBA talent.
