thats ridiculous if you think JVG didn't allow Yao to train with Hakeem. Players are allowed to train with whoever they want in the offseason.....JVG is gone..so stop blaming him for whatever the hell you can find to b**** about.....

I can see JVG not allowing dream to work with Yao before. Remember, he wouldn't even let carrol dawson work with yao anymore and he was the gm.

Yao had mentioned in that lengthy interview after the Jazz loss that Gundy did not allow Yao to work out with CD.

Dream was not mentioned, but CD was definitely mentioned.

    This is what Yao said...

"I can ask CD (Carroll Dawson) to help me in my practice. During Jeff's tenure, he did not allow CD to help me on my practice. Now if he is out, then maybe CD will be allowed to help me on my practice."

In light of this, I cant say that Gundy did not allow Yao to work out with Hakeem but if someone claims that it could be a possibility, I cant scoff at the idea either.

Yes, that is a little strange that JVG would not let CD work with Yao. There must have been some reason for it....

JVG is a control freak and anything that he can control he will, so since he had the power to authorize who could work with yao and who couldn't, he used that power to only allow his people to work with yao.

WTF......does JVG follow Yao to china and make sure he doens't train with anybody in his country too!!! Is there a list of people who are approved to train with Yao.....some of the things you guys make up is total S@##
even if you read it somewhere, have some common sense on what to beleive and what not to believe....
sometimes players have clauses in their contracts where they cna't ride motorcycles, or go off and go cliff diving but no coach or team can tell a player who he can or can't train with...doesn't that sound stupid to you!!??
    think about it....
Yao can hire or play with anybody he wants...hey somebody said that Yao shoots hoops with his girlfriend for fun...maybe you should go tell the Rockets because I think JVG said it wasn't permitted.....
JVG is gone so why dont you find somebody else to blame hunger, taxes, and gasoline prices on.....
did you guys notice that since JVG lost game 7 for us, gas prices started shooting up...

JVG can't control Yao during the summer, but anything that happens during the season and during any practice time, JVG dictates the conditions.

I feel like we've slipped through a rift in the universe, into Bizarro World.

"Today, it is only about some basic footwork and some exchange of low post drills/techniques; he is a quick learner and he comprehended fast."

sounds like plans to work out more together...

bottom line is this is good news... the Dream may not be able to teach Yao much in 1 session.. or 5 or 10 or how many they plan together...

but he can teach him how to think like a champion...

as far as im concerned... Yao has got the skill level and the drive to improve... he just dosent have the dominating mindset...

maybe having one of Yao's idols... tell him to dominate when he is in the paint... make make wonders for Yao's game...

remember Yao didnt start to dominate, until he watched some tapes and decided not to throw the ball out too quick when a double team came last year

Patrick taught Yao very well. Didn't you watch the playoffs? That was Patrick Ewing II out there. Not the Dream. Same footwork, same post play, same everything.
