LOL - Just because I got my wish about JVG, does not mean I won anything, it is the Rockets team that I care about.....hopefully they are the winners now. DD
You're right, DaDa. I'm going to get behind Adelman and support him... that is, until the tide of popular opinion finally turns against him. Then, I'll claim I never liked him in the first place and subsequently take pot shots at him at every available opportunity. Oh, and in the case that the BBS sways back and forth regarding its attitude towards Adelman (during good times and bad), I'll just adapt to whatever the general mood is. I mean, this strategy has worked well for you over the years, right?
I reserve the right to change my opinion once the situation and data changes. For instance on JVG, when it was announced that Rudy was going to be gone ( a move I supported because of the team) I liked JVG, then did some research on him and before he was signed had decided that I did not believe he was right for the job. To be fair, I supported Mike Dunleavy at the time. When JVG got here, I wanted him to be the right guy, but I never liked his style, and was clearly in favor of him going. Adelman, again would not be my first choice, but I undertand why he was brought in and I like some things about him, and hope he succeeds. But you are correct, if he does a poor job, I will not be happy. People make too much about changing ones mind......if something is not working, IMO, you fix it. And this is not about me Vescey, this is about the ROCKETS !!!! DD
I'm all for moving on. We need to win championships period. Lets hope Adelman can do it. Seeing the Spurs vs Jazz in the WCF's is disgusting and needs to be stopped
It isn't an agreement thread... its a "drink the rockets red kool-aid" thread. When they start making some roster moves, I'll start getting excited... this roster cannot compete with any of the other contenders right now, and that's not taking into account possible continued injury problems to Yao and T-mac.
It is really more about, just getting past the old arguments thread.....and yes, I get the irony. I would like to see people discussing how we can get better going forward..... As this year is over. DD
You either are asking for everybody to simply give blind-hope optimism... or you're really believing that Adelman's system can make our 3-8 matchup with the other western conference's 3-8. Either way, both options are irresponsible. You want to discuss how to get better going forward? Start with acquiring viable NBA talent... players that could possibly have a chance of starting on another playoff team. Start with acquiring players who can hit WIDE OPEN shots... like other playoff teams have no problem doing... like this team had no problem doing in 05.
I can't believe you guys think I follow popular opinion? LOL- I get killed for saying things WAY earlier than they are popular. If anything, I have the unpopular opinion.....until it becomes popular. And Meowgi, come on now be fair, I have not even mentioned Vince Young. DD
And so is a lot of other's, but is that plus the quantity of posts that makes it hard to deal with. You are like the Rockets' live in Mother-In-Law.
Sorry, no dice. Now that JVG is gone, we need to decide which of the two "stars" we need to get rid of first. I mean, it's either one or the other. And we need plenty of TOFs and YOFs thrown around. Anything less is just not being a true rockets fan. But no worries, after we trade one of the 2, we can discuss sacking adlebrain after the preseason loss.
Sigh - I can't even post a positive thread without getting blasted....... Where is my negative enabler Sam Fisher? DD
Well put! On the subject at hand, I'm not optimistic about the Rockets. Hopefully Morey will make some great personnel moves and actually improve this team. If you stand back and take a look at the Rockets from an objective standpoint, there isn't a lot to get excited about. We have two injury-prone stars, one very good role player and filler. Adelman is a decent coach. Morey is totally unproven. Les is a jerk. I don't expect much next year but I'm holding Les accountable for an improvement. I've worked for people like him and it wasn't pleasant. Let's see.
I agree. Rick and JVG are both great coaches. I do have a problem with Les Alexander though now. I think it is time we look for a new owner. I have a feeling that no matter who the coach is we will still get the same results because the guy needs to give a little to get some. He is barely ever there to know what the team needs.
