Every offseason the last 3-4 years has been exciting for one reason or another. Let's hope this offseason is effective at improving the roster.

Houston Rockets Hire Adelman Last Edited: Monday, 21 May 2007, 9:27 PM CDT Created: Monday, 21 May 2007, 7:00 PM CDT HOUSTON -- NBA sources tell FOX 26 Sports that Rick Adelman will be named the next head coach of the Houston Rockets. League sources tell FOX 26 that Adelman and the Rockets have reached a preliminary agreement on a contract which means he will replace Jeff Van Gundy who was fired Friday. League sources also tell FOX Adelman is flying in Tuesday with a news conference expected Wednesday. Adelman has been an NBA head coach with three different teams. Most recently he was the boss in Sacramento before being dismissed prior to the 2006-2007 season. He has also been the head coach in Golden State and in Portland where he led the Trailblazers to the NBA Finals twice. During his career as an NBA head coach, Adelman has won 61percent of his regular season games. He takes over a Rockets franchise that has not won a playoff series in 10 years.
I like the move, I honeslty don't think Yao was being used properly by JVG. The man had Yao fighting for position down low EVERY FRIGGIN TIME!!!.... that's obviously going to have an affect on him, part of Yao's game I think was his shooting touch, he's gonna have to learn to hit those 15 footers with ease, which I don;t think will be too hard for him. It's time Yao gets used properly. With this move I expect Yao to be even better. Plus I hope we get rid of Howard/T-Mac....for a Bench/PF/PG.
Two things seem certain: 1. The OBVIOUS bias by the refs and Stern against JVG is finally over. 2. It should be a more entertaining brand of basketball. Hopefully, this translates into more playoff wins.
I guess i meant it in the way that we knew what type of players and style we would be playing. Now that we will definitley have a different style of play it will be exciting because we go from a defensive minded team to an offensive minded.
Good to hear. No need to dilly dally and delay the inevitable. He's the guy we wanted and we got him.
Chron story... http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/4824133.html Rockets hire Adelman as new basketball coach By JONATHAN FEIGEN Copyright 2007 Houston Chronicle Rick Adelman, the only coach the Rockets targeted or interviewed, agreed to terms on a contract to become the Rockets next coach, a person with knowledge of the Rockets' decision-making said on Monday. Adelman will fly to Houston on Tuesday and be introduced on Wednesday.
Agree. Stromile Swift was fun. Bonzi Wells was fun. Now it's time to get someone that can actually contribute not another "looks good on paper" team.
I'll reserve judgement on this one. IMO, the roster as it stands does not fit Adleman's style. They're going to have to get more athletic while still finding a way to utilize Yao. I'm not worried defensively because JVG taught them well. That doesn't just disappear. I'll say thanks to JVG and welcome to RA.
Hopefully Adelman hires Mario Elie as one of his assistants. Elie played for Adelman and has said that he wants to be assistant coach again. He lives here and would be a good fit.
Thanks JVG for putting defensive instincts on our players..now, let's have a smooth and faster offense..get the right players Rick,Les and Morey..lets roll!
