With the nex zoning defenses someone always needs shooters and thats what Dan Langhi is a pure shooter... Yes like Bullard...

If my memory serves me right I remember that Air Bullard won us some games with his shot.........

I say keep a hold of him now and Williams also... Wait to see what some teams are looking for at the trade deadline and maybe add something going into the final # of games with a solid player...

No one can really say where we'll be but someone always needs shooters and we have 2 in Walt and Dan sitting there...

I'd keep'em at least for now.. Other teams(Playoff teams) get injuries and we could have a player they may want like one of these 2 guys....

It'll be a smart move by Les to see to it that the local kid, Damon Jones, is in a Rockets uniform on the bench and not behind the bench in street clothes. This may tend to fill out some of those otherwise empty seats throughout the year.

Jason and Dan aren't very emotional over there on the bench. They show very little support for their teamates during the game, it seems. That to me sucks. This team needs the Jon Barrys and Pollards waiving the towels, pumping up their homeys man! It'll be cool if Damon Jones takes shows a hellova lot more interest in his teams and teamates success than Jason and Dan. I bet Rudy recognizes these things and Im sure this is one of the reasons he would have Damon down on the bench with him rather than Dan or Jason.

You really think Damon Jones has enough of a following in Houston to fill empty seats?? I bet the majority of Houstonians and those who go to the game don't even know who the guy is.

Well the Rockets already got BURNED by Rashard Lewis, and eventhough Jones might not have the potential, that everybody knew Rashard had, he already looks better than most backup PG's in the league.

Bill: Checking in for Battier is a familiar face Rockets' fans ......... it's Dan Langhi returning to were he played his college ball.

Calvin: the Rockets need to keep a hand in his face cause we all now about his stroke. With 9 minutes left in the quarter he should be able to put at least 18 shots. He's my kind a player.

Calvin: Bill! get yo hand off my cookies. See what I have to put up with ladies and gentlemen.

I just don't get the Bullard comparisons here or even the idea that Langhi is our spot-up shooter of the future. Bullard understood that there are two parts to spot-up shooting.

    Spotting Up

    Shooting

Bullard knew where to be on the floor (the spotting up part) and when he got the outlet pass (from a post up player or a slashing guard), the ball rarely stayed with him more than a second (the exception being when he faked his defender). He got the shot off and was usually money.

Langhi, on the other hand, never seems to know where he's supposed to be on the floor. He doesn't position himself to receive the outlet pass, and when he does have the ball in his hands, he holds on to it too long. His release isn't anywhere near as quick as Bullard's. Simply put, Bullard knew what to do - Langhi does not.

Also, to say that Langhi is raw makes no sense to me. Raw means a lack of experience and playing time. He played 4 years of college and was the main option for at least his senior year. Futhermore, I've never read anything that implies that he didn't play basketball in high school. Eddie Griffin at 19 with one year of college ball is raw. Dan Langhi is not.

Basically, I feel that Dan simply doesn't get the game unless he has the ball in his hands. Compare him to Terrence Morris, who has contributed in multiple ways this preseason, and there's no doubt in my mind who is the more talented and smarter player. If Rudy wants to cut this guy, I don't think it's any big loss.

For y'all that don't know. Jones has not made the final cut for the Rockets. Brown did however.

I've been hearing how good a player Langhi can be for the past year, but have yet to see a glipse of talent from him. I don't want to see him be cut and the Rockets not get anything in return. If he doesn't get put on the IR, I hope we can trade him somewhere for a draft pick or possibly in a package deal.

Actually, Milwaukee drafted Collier didnt they? And then traded him to us along with a 1st rounder for Pryzbilla .....then we used that 1st rounder to get Eddie Griffin. My guess is that RT is happy he drafted at least one of them;)

I went to a number of Cougar games at Hofheinz back when Damon was playing there. I can tell you, the crowd was basically me, my friends, and a couple dozen other fans. If Damon was filling seats back then, it was with members of his family.

I thought Phil Hendrie is on from 6:00 to 9:00.
Does Hendrie brang Rudy T on as a guest and do the interviewing?
