how many points did Yao score in the 4th of Game 7? 15 points or so? He was unstoppable, even more so because the refs were letting him play aggressive without Okur flopping. his stats that quarter certainly weren't hollow. yes, he sucked the first three quarters, but he got on a roll and we went up 5. if anything, the decision to go away from Yao a bit in the final 4 minutes and to Tracy, who had difficulties scoring on Derek Fisher the whole series for some reason, was the reason we lost.
im talking about the series as a whole. yao didnt play that good. Yes, he did put up some good numbers in the 4th but he also had a TO in that time, missed rebounds and took a few bad fade-aways. IM not putting it all on him b/c tmac also disappeared in crunch time but im my view, a 15 pt 4th quarter doesnt erase a bad series where he should have completely dominated an inferior defender.
You didn't have to put the last line. When you said Harris would be 10X better, everyone knew you were a Jeffette.
Don't blame the player for the poor shot selection. Blame the stagnant offense with no movement for forcing the issue. A man can only drive to the basket so many times before he is going to be gassed and when the coach's only play for 22 consecutive possesions is "tracy try to drive and defeat the double team and then find an open team mate". When my 10 year old keeps asking "Dad, is that the only play they run?" there might be a problem with the offense. When any player has to try to do everything for the entire 4th quarter, he is eventually going to be winded and naturally he is going to settle for the easier choice which is what he did at the end of games. If there was any back picking, or cutters moving around to create space and prevent the inevitable double team at the top of the key that was making tracy have to dribble all the way out to midcourt to turn the corner, maybe he would have some gas left. if he had any other penetrators who could help, things could have been different. WHat you saw was a guy take the easier way out because he was exhausted and frustrated because WHen he did beat the double he had options of three guys who were what seemed 0 fer the playoffs and all of the sudden that 22 footer with 2 guys hanging on him was looking like a quality shot versus giving it to JHO, Luther, Shane, and I can't hit the ocean from the beach Alston. Give tracy a Frickin break.

Adelman is a flawless choice for a team anchored by two superstars and two or three other key components. Never a self-promoter or one to demand players he must or must not have, he merely manages (never over-coaches) the personnel on tap and gets them to the playoffs – 14 out of 14 times as coach of Portland and Sacramento. Flawless choice? Screw you AP. Adelman sucks and won't mesh with this team. We shouldn't have let JVG go. We did him wrong. I hate Les. At least we coudl have hired Mario Elie! ....just kidding. Yay! I think it's exciting. The flawless choice comment is funny, though.

HOUSTON -- While The Houston Rockets and Rick Adelman have yet to come to an agreement on a contract that would make Adelman the team's next head coach, NBA sources tell FOX 26 Sports both sides are working diligently toward making that happen. League sources told FOX 26 Sports Saturday the two sides had made enough progress that a deal could have been reached as early as Sunday and while that hasn't happened yet, an agreement between Adelman and the Rockets does appear imminent. At this point it no longer seems to be if, but when Adelman will become an NBA head coach for the fourth time. He also coached Portland, Golden State, and Sacramento and he took the Trailblazers to the NBA Finals twice. No Rockets official was available for comment Sunday.
I very much doubt Les would hire Brown even if they are pals. Les got rid of Jeff because 1) he played slow ball and 2) he complained about personnell. Well, guess what Brown does?
