Nope, Bibby isn't a free agent. He does have a player option though, but he isn't going to drop it because he said himself he had a 'bad year'.

PG: Luther Head for Jarrett Jack
    SG: Tracy McGrady
    SF: Matt Barnes
PF: Shane Battier for Boris Diaw + one of their picks
    C: Yao Ming

-We will have two first round picks for our bench.
-Vasilis Spanoulis with likely more playing time
-Alston can be used as a trading piece if Span gets his playing time.
-Kirk Snyder with a Bonzi Wells role under Adelman.
-Either Juwan or Chuck can go.
    -LLE used for a back-up C.

Rockets is one decent PF away from WCF or even more. Most realistic and practical roster:

    C: Yao
PF: Camby or PJ Brown or Macdyss or Webber via trade (Howard + bench)
    SF: Battier
    SG: T-Mac
    PG: Spanoulis
    6th Man: Francis
    Tsakalidis
    Hayes
    Novak
    Head
    Snyder
    Alston

There is still no consistent outside shooting with that lineup outside of Tmac. The piont guard spot is still suspect.
Lets try to get Rashard Lewis and Luke Ridnour if possible. Do we put up Tmac for these two guys?

    Using the current Roster.

    PG - V-Span
    SG - Snyder
    SF - McGrady
    PF - Battier
    C - Yao

Size at the two guard positions and a little undersized at the PF position, but Battier can stretch the defense with his bombing from distance.

    Key Backups

    PF - Novak/Hays/Howard

One or the other depending on matchups.

SF - Novak - I really want to see him coming around screens ala Peja....

    SG - Luther

    PG - Rafer

    C - Howard/Jake.

    PG - Jason Terry/alston/span
    SG - Kirk Snyder/ jhoward/almond/head
    SF- Josh Howard/ Battier/snyder
    PF- Novac/Juwan Howard/Hayes/Battier
    C- Yao/Deke

I'd really love us to go after Steve Blake this off season, if I'm not mistaken he's a free agent and I think there is a legit chance we could land him for the MLE. I don't really see an attainable power forward who would be an upgrade for us (if Walter Harmann was available from Charolette for some reason I'd love to snap him up).

    PG - Steve Blake
    SG - Tracy McGrady
    SF - Shane Battier
    PF - Juwon/Chuck/First round pick?
    C - Yao

I've defended Rafer a lot this season, and while I don't think he's the reason we lost game 7, I think a seasoned point guard with a better shooting percentage from behind the arc and a pass first mentality would really help us out a lot. I think Shane is great, he just needs to be more aggressive on the offensive end. I'm sorry, I'm still not ready to jump on the V-Span bandwagon - I'll believe it when I see it, but for right now I think we need to go grab us a smarter point guard or at least a power forward who can get clutch rebounds!!!

Now with a time machine, it's not. And who cares? If you hadn't noticed my team, I have Power Forward - 1991 Len Bias. And he died in '85.

DaDakota. We have already established that the current roster needs some tweaking. We are not going anywhere without a legit PG and PF. The rest will take care of itself. Although painful to see happen I seriously would trade Yao or TMac for some players that will make us more balanced(scoring) etc.

I would consider trading Tmac but not Yao....and I know that there will be some roster turnover, I was just projecting out on the pieces we have today.

That team would have a very hard time making the playoffs

    I have 2 scenarios:

    C: Yao
    PF: Tmac
    SF: Battier
    SG: Bonzi
    PG: Bibby/Francis

Tmac, Battier, and Bonzi can all be interchangeable

    C: Yao
    PF: K-Mart
    SF: Battier
    SG: Tmac
    PG: Bibby/Francis

They dont have to give up much for kmart. I think Skip+Jho are worth it

I agree. Both of those scenarios would work well. Shed Alston,Head and Juwon. I still like Mikki Moore from NJ in lieu of Kmart given that he is injury prone and all. I would also like Grant Hill at SG and move Battier to 6 th man!!!
