http://msnbc.com/news/627086.asp Oct. 24 — The Defense Department said Wednesday it had learned that the ruling Taliban militia may have plans to poison humanitarian aid intended to relieve the suffering of Afghan civilians and blame the United States. While the information heightened the urgency of the U.S. military campaign, a senior official said the Pentagon is “prepared to take as long as required to take the Taliban down.” THE OFFICIAL, Rear Adm. John Stufflebeem, deputy director of operations for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said he was issuing the warning about Taliban intentions “ahead of time in case anything happens.” Stufflebeem told reporters at Wednesday’s daily Pentagon news briefing that the United States was trying to find ways to communicate with the civilian Afghan population that the hundreds of thousands of food packages U.S. forces have dropped were safe and that they should not blame or fear the United States if Taliban-poisoned food was distributed. “The local nationals must realize the biggest reason they are having a problem is the people who are bringing the problem,” meaning the Taliban.
Either that or the Americans intend to poison the Afghanis with food drops and blame it on the Taliban.
That is sick. They know that they are not winning anyone over by saying the US is attacking their religion. They want people to like them but they are not going about it the right way.
