Nobody ever cared a first round cannon fodder team. Nothing will change that fact and makes rockets look "better".

Sloan is like the coach of the bad guy in Karate Kid.

And Jazz fans have been outed in this thread.

yeah go jazz? no thanks id rather them lose more than anything. right now im rooting for the spurs.. to lose as well. i wouldnt mind seeing the suns going against cleveland. james is a pretty good player to watch and the suns are a team to root for, even with bell on the team. you could never get tired of seeing them run and run, i remember when yao was out our team was basically a run and gun team. we had to rely getting down to the offensive side quicker than our opponents and that went pretty well. i think 20-10? or something of that nature.. i really wish yao would be able to move a whole lot quicker but thats just not the player that he is.

so in conclusion DIE JAZZ FOR KNOCKING US OUT OF THE FIRST ROUND. why would you vote any other way?? no one remembers malone and stockton? uhh...

At this point I say Detroit is now my second favorite team behind Rockets to kick some Spurs off their high horse.

    DIRTY CHEATERS!!!

Trust me -- noone should ever cheer for the Jazz just because we lost to them. A year later, or even a few months later, no one will go say, "you know what, we're alright, we lost to the would-be champions, the Utah Jazz." No, they won't say that because

    1. it's outright disgusting.
    2. noone remembers who we lost to, just that we lost that year.

Oh no, I just realized that if the Spurs were to go on to the next round, we'd be treated to a Jazz/Spurs Conference final showdown. Kill me now.

I'm not pulling for them but they earned my respect after they beat the Rockets. My hatred for them was mainly due to Malone and Stockton acting and flopping their way to wins. This team is physical , hard nosed and will out hustle you for 48 minutes. They dont give up too many easy lay ups either.

The Spazz will not make the finals.. Suns and Spurs have their number. Suns are faster and organized (unlike the Warriors) and the Spurs have TD's presence in the paint. That really goes without saying..

To me the Spazz making the finals is like Michael Jordan coming out of retirement just for the playoffs so he can play with the Bulls again and beat Utah in 6 games like he did the last time. All just a dream.

this is what i call the perfect storm. nash winning is another dagger in the heart of maverick fans, keeps the spurs and their idiotic fans from being 2 up on us in championships and keeps utah out.

make no mistake, i do hate the jazz with all of my heart and i root against them no matter who they play, but IF they won it all it would be kind of funny in that these young guys were able to do in their first post season what karla and stockdumb were not able to accomplish in 20 years.

The only team that I have irrational hatred for is the lakers. I have always admired the Jazz as a tough blue collar team, which is the side I have always chosen when they go up against the slick Hollywood showtime teams (Celtics over the Lakers in the 80's, Pistons over Lakers, Jazz over Bulls, Pacers over Lakers in the late 90's early 2000, and Jazz and Spurs, and Pistons over Suns now, since lakers are now irrelevant.) I stand by what I've said over and over again, if Malone and Stockton had been Rockets, they would be heroes around here, if they did the exact same things they did for the Jazz. Houston sports fans appear to be some of the most fickle, delusional ones I've ever seen, and I live in Aggieland!

So, yes, I am hoping the Jazz win the title, but not because it makes the Rockets "an elite team" because it wouldn't really do that. An elite team doesn't go 11 years without making the 2nd round. As I posted in that other thread, my second choice would be the Spurs (Texas team, I seem to be the only one around here with any Texan pride, and also my family is from SA, history with Spurs goes back aways), then Pistons, then Suns, then Nets I guess..Bulls, Cavs last by default.

A Rockets fan rooting for the Jazz, Spurs, or Dallas is not a Rockets fan.

Yes exactly true. Not unless if it involves the Spurs vs Mavs, in that case go with the lesser of the evil and take the Spurs ;)

Sorry, just because you say so, doesn't make it so. I happen to like all four teams, the Rockets are by far my favorite, though. I don't watch all the games of those other teams and post on their message boards or do play by play for the chatroom like I do for the Rockets. I'm a Rockets fan whether you acknowledge it or not. In fact, I'm a more loyal Rockets fan than a lot of people on this site who bail at the first losing streak every season.

Are you only listing closet Jazz fans? Because it seems like Sean Reynolds should take the #1 spot otherwise.
