Jerry Falwell, who founded the Moral Majority and built the religious right into a political force, died Tuesday shortly after being found unconscious in his office at Liberty University, a school executive said. He was 73.
^ Agreed. At least he had a quick death and didn't suffer. My guess is a stroke. My sympathy to his friends and family.
wow, that's just..weird. kind of sudden. agreed with very little of what he said, but it is indeed a sad day for the evangelical community.
May he rest in peace, however, he fomented nothing but hate, especially towards gay people, and I will raise a glass to his passing when I get home this evening. For his sake, I hope God isn't gay.
I never heard him preach a sermon, not did I ever get involved with his group. So other than the headlines I don't know that much about him as a minister. I hope he was a very good dad and husband. I am confident he knows more about God right this moment than the rest of us and I hope he was prepared for that. God bless his family.
