I believe he is alluding to the fact that Dan Castlenetta was going for a Walter Mathau type of voice during the very early parts of the show (i.e. the Tracy Ullman shorts and the first season)
I've never been a South Park guy, but over the past 3 or so years, it's been great. The Simpsons on the other hand...I haven't watched for about 7 years now on Sunday nights. I'll catch the syndicated eps if it's from the first 5-8 years or so.
The "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" episode was the pinnacle of the Simpsons. Still it's the best show in the history of tv.
During that whole thing I thought of a certain poster with the Name DonnyMost. family guy really has fallen off, especially after i watched the "Cartoon Wars {art 1 and 2' on southpark. they were makin fun of family guy's format, and then when i watched family guy again, I just kinda didnt find it that hilarious anymore. southpark has owned since the sixth season. has southpark stopped airing recently? cause there have only been like five episodes this season. anyone know why?
i used to love the simpsons. just simply got tired of it. still a decent show though from the few new ones i have seen the last few years. american dad just plain sucks. ill leave it at that. family guy is great and i think for the most part i enjoyed it more as a whole then the simpsons. but i think people are right when they say it has fallen off some. still better then most stuff on tv i bet. south park i also have liked but never watched much of it.
king of the hill is awesome. it feels a lot different than the simpsons, south park, and family guy, that's why most people probably don't mention it. do they still make new episodes? i used to dvr all the repeats on fox but after i'd seen all of them i stopped watching it. like someone else said, the south park cartoon wars lowered family guy a little for me. i still think the early stuff was hilarious but i haven't watched any new episodes.
Family guy is extremely formulaic with an over reliance on 80s pop culture references and random cutaway scenes- some people might find that funny, but it gets tired very quickly. King of the Hill is underrated- I love that show- but alot of people don't like it for whatever reason. They still come out with new episodes on Sunday. I think the Simpsons is still a good show. Every show isn't a classic and its not as good as it used to be- but I still find the show enjoyable, and there are several recent standouts. This Sunday they are doing a parody of 24 with guest star Keifer Sutherland - I'm looking foward to that. And I expect the Simpsons movie to be great- it was put together by a team of classic simpsons writers, and already is getting good early reviews . Simpsons > King of the Hill > Family Guy
Love king of the hill! I think its more of an animated sitcom than shows like South Park, the Simpsons and Family guy. They are still showing new king of the hills this season but I think it might be the last season
