I think thats what it comes down to... From his recent interview I gathered that he basically wants to see if he has a chance of getting some PT with the rockets...not starting....but a chance.

If the Rocks keep rafer and acquire another proven PG then he's gone...If Rafer stays and no other PG gets signed or if another PG gets signed but Rafer goes , then he's staying...That's what I think

this team makes this team look horrible.

i do too, but the problem is i realize that he is a project and you think he can jump in right now and change games. i think thats just overzealous. he is a project and that takes time and patience

see now you think they dont have the pieces?

and just b/c the guys didnt get big minutes on tv games doesnt mean they didnt grow or that they didnt develop a chemistry.

Unless we are playing the Spurs (Duncan), the Clippers (Brand), the Jazz (Boozer), the Lakers (Brown), Memphis (Gasol), Denver (Nene), Portland (Randolph), Kings (SAR, KT), etc...

That's just off the top of my head in the West

jvg was hoping that battier would play PF the majority of the time...how is that living in the past? He wanted a smaller, faster and shooting guy at the 4 spot. that sounds pretty dam "modern" to me

Sorry DaD. I really like reading your posts but this is the silliest stuff I've ever seen from you. I repeat what I posted a while back: You are letting your intense man-hate of JVG cloud your judgement. I can accept that you don't like JVG because I feel the same way about Carroll Dawson's absolute ineptitude but you have lost all sense of perspective. Their season is over. They lost. Let it go.

Money is not an object to spanoulis.. He is getting 1.33 million euros a year from the rockets, which after tax translate to roughly 850.000 euros.

PAO offered him 1000000 (after tax) in order to stay....

The guy just wants to play and make it. Any of the top european teams would offer him between 1-1.3 million euros per year if he came back and he wouldn't even consider it if he was told he'd get PT in the NBA....He just lives for basketball

We need to play Vspan with our starters so that chemistry will begin to form among them, which lead to fewer turnover automatically. In most cases, Vspan's passes are not bad pass at all, it is just that his teammates lack the experiences playing with him.

At the first half of the regular season, we will lose several more games. However, we probably will be payed back in the second half or if the experiment fail, anyway we can't win a playoff series with the limited bench, we still won't get anything worse than what we've got.

I would like to answer this question by saying: When the season is over just like it is right now, Wouldn't we be moe optimistic in 2007-2008 season if we had used the bench more?

Are you blind? Vspan only played point in 1 game and that was after San Antonio was eating up Alston and head and Lucas, Gundy decided to feed Vspan to the Lions to make him look bad and justify his no minutes for VSPAN position. The Rockets were lacking in some areas, could have used a better starting power forward, true but JVG is the biggest cancer on the rockets team and the biggest reason for the Rockets exit in the ffirst round. We need to remove that lump NOW!

I do see one benefit from JVG not playing VSPAN. He has been only minimally poisoned by Van Dummy's antics.

We can play this game all day. Perhaps if we had played VSpan and Novak more, they would have sucked like 95% of all 2nd rounders do and cost us several games and been benched. Then maybe we'd be sitting here having lost 4-0 to the Spurs as the 6 seed, with a crappy Novak and VSpan. Would you be more optimistic then?

Well....It's better to regret thing you have done than things you haven't done....Then youd be able to say that they suck and try for something new.. Now you just have to wait another year to maybe find out

Synder and Battier had plenty of time at their positions. Shane has never been a great rebounder and that hurts playing him at the 4.

VSPAN has no one but himself to blame. The guy was awful. When he got chances he blew them.

It amazes me how people will twist anything around to put the blame on JVG. Fact is, our team just isn't good enough right now. We need to upgrade at the 4 and we haven't done that successfully. We don't stand a chance until then.

True - but that only works with hindsight knowing the results of the season. If we make 2 more shots in game 7, was it still a mistake? Would being in the 2nd round vs GS be worse than having been swept by the Spurs, but having played Novak/V-Span?

Should Detroit have played Darko the year they won a championship? Had they lost in the ECF, would that answer have changed?

Exactly...in the last quarter , 7 mins of which with Novak Snyder and Lucas in there with him. Surprisingly, it was the best quarter the rockets played that night

Being played out of position is not being given a chance. Not being played to any of your strengths is not being given a chance.

Everyone agrees his strength is driving to the basket, yet more than 70% of the shots he took this year were jumpers.
