Why do you even post here? You've admitted to being a YOF on multiple occasions, yet I've never seen you say anything positive about him. It's clear you're just one of those fans who has unrealistic expectations as to what Yao is physically capable of achieving.

You want Yao to dominate/terrorize the league just so you can validate your own "fandom" through some sort of inexplicable vicariousness. Anything less and your little hopes and dreams come crashing down around you. You're no basketball fan. Do us all a favor and just leave.

A healthy Yao wasn't dominant in the way that a young Shaq or Hakeem were dominant. However, a healthy Yao is still the most dominant center in the league right now.

Can he single-handed win games? Probably not. But surround him with some better shooters and a coach who doesn't waste his energy and we'll have ourselves a couple of championships.

Yes, that's one thing you can't place at the feet of Van Gundy. Come on! Injuries happen. We don't want them to happen to our players, but they do, and you hope you have the depth to deal with it. The Rockets had/have little depth, but with outstanding play by McGrady, Deke, Howard and some other contributions unlooked for, we had an excellent regular season record while the big guy was out. I highlighted regular season. It's not a joke that the playoffs are different, with a different intensity and adjustments by the teams, and that the refs treat it differently.

Yao wasn't all the way back from his injury. That's obvious, and we were fooling ourselves to think otherwise. Utah exposed that, as they exposed a lot of our other weaknesses. I still think we should have beat them, but the fact remains that we lost, and Yao wasn't the same player, yet, that he was pre-injury.

I agree. Everyone thought Yao was back, but I knew he wasn't the same Yao before the injury. He just couldn't get his stamina back, and he was a lot softer defensively. Maybe he was subconsciously trying to avoid contact, which is why he let Boozer have his way with him. W

The main problem that arose after Yao's rehab from the broken leg was his inability to do his quick spin move along the baseline to the rim.

He just shot fade away after fade away , and missed so many of them. (almost a third of them were blocked....)

I miss Yao's arm hook spin move. :(

u WILL see that guy next yr. he never had an offseason last yr to regain his strength/stamina/rhythm that one develops going into a season. then it was interrupted again w/ the back spasm. that's why he was SO inconsistent this yr.

he will go back to a more efficient player and scorer next yr. his J won't be this bad.

For all those that ragged on Yao all series long. Let us wait and see what the Dream can teach Yao this Summer and just watch how dominate Yao will become once again with even more moves to combat anyone and any D teams will come up with next season.

Yao is the reason the Rockets lost this series. I know that the role players were weak, but Yao did not carry his weight. He hurt the Rockets on the offensive end with turnovers (can he pass out of a double-team?) and on the defensive end with allowing Boozer to torch the Rocks.

The 4/5 matchup between Okur and Boozer and Yao and Hays/Howard was a bad one for the Rockets, since Yao is a liability outisde of the paint. Having a legit player at the 4 would definately help....
