I'm sure you all know how I feel this war is just. I am also aware that most of you, at least in this forum, think that it isn't. I hope this video might give you an idea of one soldier's perspective as to what they deal with. When they come home, give them a hero's welcome, regardless of your feelings towards the war. Hippies (some of which are here. One with an owl) vs. Vietnam literally screwed a lot of good kids minds up. Regardless of whether you are a newbie hippie, or otherwise, be proud of the men who decided to serve our country.
The War In Iraq: A Soldiers Perspective - Brought to you by Break.com Video Search (BTW, I feel this is a very non-politically biased view)
Good find. We've still got the greatest military in the world, and some of the bravest men and women serving. I go out of my way to thank them whenever I can.
For some reason the sound wasn't working very well on the video for me but I think I got the gist of it. Anyway the vast vast majority of those of us who think this war is a terrible mistake are proud of our soldiers. We recognize that with the rare exception of a few bad apples our troops are honorable people and deserving of our respect. The troops don't decide where they go and its not there fault they are sent to fight a war for spurious reasons. Also many of us who dissaprove of this war have friends and families who are there in Iraq now and are deeply concerned about their welfare. Not to forget too that many who oppose this war have served themselves. Calling people who disagrees with the war "hippies" who disrespect the troops is a disservice to the debate by painting them as shaggy long hairs out of touch with most of society.
