I'm gonna disagree about Smush. He might be the one PG in league that is actually worse than Rafer.

Who would want Juwan Howard and his fat contract??? And who would we get for him? Examples please?

As for Snyder, who says he's useless? He's provided a spark off the bench whenever JVG used him.

START VSPAN???? I love the guy, but he's not there yet. I'd rather he become a backup PG first to gain experience.

We had that with Gay, but we traded him away along with...

.... yes the decent, cheap, athletic backup power forward named Stromile Swift.

I'm not sure about this one. You want Larry Brown, yet you want to start VSpan? Can't have both.

    5. Teach Yao how to jump - Actually serious on this one. A man with treetrunk legs should not have a 8" vertical.

You beat me to the punch. I agree that #2 was the only valid point. 4 and 1 are the positions we need to address. Wilcox might be an answer, but at what cost. I'd like to see us get Javaris Crittenton, the 6-5 frosh point from Georga Tech in the draft.

I agree. Smush is not the answer. Francis is a cheap possible solution at the 1. Even if he doesn't do well as a starter, we can bench him, put McGrady at the 1 and play Head or VSpan at the 2. We could also keep Alston if we pick up Francis. But, without Francis, we lose our 3rd scoring option. There's just not that many cheap, available scoring PGs out there, and I really don't think the draft is the answer.

If we don't get a boost at the 1, we certainly need an improvement at the 4. What we need desparately is a rebounding PF to make up for Yao's weakness. It'll be hard to get one, and harder still to get one that can score. So I'd rather shoot for a good rebounding PF and Franchise.

But to be honest, we're jumping ahead of ourselves. Getting rid of JHo's fat contract (really not sure how we would do this . . .) and getting a new coach (not LB please) is the key to turning this team into a contender IMO. We should take care of that before jumping to who to draft or pickup in free agency.

You had me going fora moment as I was seeing that you are agreeing with what I have been saying for some time now, till i reached your suggestion for Coach,
Larry Brown is unable to coach as he is too busy counting all the money he has swindled out of the NBA teams. I wouldn't trust Larry Brown with a barge pole!

wholeheartedly agreed. plus smush's non-existant defense would get yao in foul trouble.
