These 5 things done by the Rockets will take us to the next level

    5. Get rid of Jowan Howard and Kirk Snyder (useless players)

    4. Start V. Spanalouis and put Rafer on the bench

    3. Get an athletic combo 2/3 man who can run

    2. Get an athletic and decent power forward

    and

    1. Get Larry Brown as the head coach.

1 thing you must do this summer: pull the tool [see below] out of your ear (it is beginning to hamper your cognitions)

No, that list is not correct.

#1, Les has to put more money on table to get at least GOOD players who can SCORE. He is too cheap, but champion doesn't come cheap!

    someone must take the blame..

I have the feeling that either TMAC or YAO will be trade...
Battier will stay, he is solid.

there is no way yao will get traded. do you know how much revenue he generates? and tmac wont get traded either. 1. we;re nothing without him. 2. no team will take a gamble on him and send us a super star in return, it would never be an even trade

How about a change of pace with rick adelman? Can you guys see Yao doing his best Divac impersonation? Hell, if we really wanted to go with it, Webber and Bibby (Player Option) are going to be free agents...jk. I still like Rick Adelman though. And we should sign more scorers.

I agree with 5. Howard must go. Snyder may be okay in a free flowing offense though. he is not a 3 point shooter, so if JVG stays, Snyder goes, if JVG goes and we go with an offensive oriented coach, then Snyder stays.

Vspan is not a 3 pt shooter, either is Rafer so I say start the guy. Trade Alston if we can.

I agree with 3. Maybe a Ricky Davis or Michael Pietrus?

I agree with 2. Hayes as the backup is awesome. But we need a started who is athletic and not 6 foot 5.

HOWEVER THE WORST COACH FOR THE ROCKETS WOULD BE LARRY BROWN OR RICK CARLISLE. BOTH OFF THEM ARE SLOW IT DOWN AND WAIT FOR ME TO CALL THE PLAY TYPE OF COACH.

Take a risk and guy with a young guy like Iavaroni? or go with Adelman. Free flowing offense and see what happens.

I say we package Head and Sura with Alston and Howard somehow.

Is there any way we can get Steve Francis back? Maybe if the Knicks waive him

What really gets me is that earlier we coulda had Nazr Mohammed for Bonzi earlier in the season but didnt pull the trigger on that deal. Mohammed, a plus rebounder and defender would have been really nice for us at PF instead of having Bonzi just wasting away a roster spot

And I dont see us drastically changing our style of play towards something like Phoenix with Yao on our roster. Having him play that style will kill his game period

I wouldn't get rid of Kirk Snyder. If we run a more uptempo offense next season that isn't as reliant on the 3-pointer, he'd be a great fit. Plus he's an athletic player and a decent defender. He's a keeper.

Juwan ain't going anywhere unless he's packaged with Luther Head who might be our only tradeable commodity(since we're obviously not dealing Yao or T-Mac). But since we can't afford to lose our only reliable bench scorer(Utah series notwithstanding), Head's sticking around for now. Now in the 2008-09 season, Juwan's expiring contract will be very valuable, particularly around the trade deadline. But for now, we're stuck with the guy.

I don't think I'd start V-Span, but I would give him 10-15 minutes a night next season to see what he can bring to this team. We keep saying we need more players who can create their own shot. Well, we've got a guard rotting on the bench who can give us just that. Sure, he's turnover prone and his outside shot needs work, but he's never gonna make progress in either area unless he sees playing time.

I do agree we need an athletic swingman, but we have more pressing needs at the 4 and 1. Address those first and then worry about bringing in a 2/3 guy. Maybe we can develop Snyder to play that role.

Most importantly, bring in a coach who can take this team to the next level. I liked the job Van Gundy did, but it's obvious the league has moved in a different direction. Grind it out, defensive-minded ball doesn't work anymore. And before anyone mentions the Spurs and Pistons winning with that style, they also have players who can create their own shot, get to the basket and finish, and knock down the midrange jumper.

I don't even really care if he's athletic, just as long as he can score. Pietrus would be great, but I would take Matt Carroll too, (or if we achieve the impossible gerald wallace would be nice).

Rockets need a new coach that can play atleast 9-10 players in rotation, unlike JVG who only uses 6-7 players who get super tired obviously and who does not always depend on stars for every play.

Need to develop Spanoulis n Novak and hopefully Spanoulis will be the starter next season as our PG. Alston would be a decent backup.

Defensive minded and good mid range shooter PF is highly needed as we just saw how Boozer just dominated Rockets in the position and we had no answer. Hayes is just too undersized for PF. He would be a good backup.

    Hopefully next starting lineup:

    Yao/Mutombo
    New PF/Hayes/Howard
    Battier/Novak
    Tmac/Head
    Spanoulis/Alston

Les is not too cheap, he is the only owner in houston who shouldn't get any blame. He forks up the $$$$$$$$ and wants the best players, big name guys and will do whatever it takes to win. We can't spend any money because of a little thing called the salary cap, and these other things called contracts to guys who are not even on the team. Sura, Ward, Bowen, ... Juwan....

Les Alexander - definetely not the problem.

    5. Who will take Jho off our hands? I wanted to sell high when he was playing well, but no moves were made :( I appreciate him as a person and what he has given to this organization, but it's still not enough... Snyder isn't exactly useless. See #3 - your athletic combo 2/3

    4. Rafer's not the answer, but neither is VSpan (yet?). VSpan has proven absolutely nothing yet so many on this board are on his jock

    3. An athletic 2/3 ? too bad it looks like we're set at those positions with Battier and T-Mac. PG and PF are more important issues to look at right now

    2. Agreed. Jho and Chuck are both backups. Maybe Seattle will give us Chris Wilcox in a fire sale?

    1. Be careful what you wish for. LB might be more stubborn than JVG

we need to get a PG (Bibby, Francis, or Smush) get rid of Rafer, he is a street baller not NBA material. As for the PF spot is concerned i like hayes and j.ho but we need a scorer some like Brian Cook who can hit open shots. But i think PG is our biggest problem if we get a good pg we can make it a long way into the playoffs next season
