With Taylor out and Marc Jackson with the Wariors. Is there anything else we can do besides playing Cato and Kenny as starters. Kenny is a good player ,but i don't think he is starter material. Is there any realistic trade put out there that we can get a quality rebounder and defender. Possibites 1. Marcus Camby(To me he is a great fit for the rockets running type of offense we run) 2. Chris Mihm(Not very atheltic but has the tools that we need) 3. Micheal Olwokandi(He is another #1 pick bust but just like Mihm has the tools) 4. Adonal Foyle( To me a last resort)
Vinsanity, Are you a Rocket fan or a Raptor fan or both. Just checking before I give you an opinion. If you are just a Raptor fan, my next question is why do you care what the Rockets do?
Why people don't think Mihm is atheletic? From what I saw from him he's very atheletic. I think he can be a future 18-10-2blk center. Our chances of getting him are slim to none though unless the cavs want something off of our roster. Unless the cavs wnat Walt or someone, I really don't see anyone else the would want. We're just stuck with Cato and Mud (Collier) at the 5 until .......... Duncan comes here!
Marcus Camby would disrupt the chemistry of our team. He already whined in NY that he didn't get enough playing time and touches.
I'd rather keep what we have than sign Olwokandi. And there is no way in Hell I would help Golden State out in their self inflicted logjam at the five. No Way. . . I wish Popeye was still teasing us with Curry rumors.
Here's an idea to chew on. Vecsey's latest article states that Toronto is looking to unload 2 for 1, to clear out some of their guaranteed contracts. Now, assuming this to be true, here's a couple of trade ideas that would help us with our front line problem & help them to clear some salaries. Houston sends Walt (expiring contract & experienced veteran SF) to Toronto. Toronto sends Clark/N'Diaye/Curry (expiring contract) to Houston. or.... Toronto sends Clark/N'Diaye/Montross to Houston. If Toronto would wait until December 28th, we could also send Damon Jones to them, since we don't need him with Moochie back. Here's the article that I'm referring to. http://www.nypost.com/sports/34195.htm Saturated with no-cut contracts, Raptors are attempting to trade 2-for-1. Michael Stewart (owed $17M over four), Tracy Murray ($3.4M, $3.7M), Mamadou N'diaye (793G, 848G), Eric Montross (12M for four), Brian Skinner ($1M) and Keon Clark ($1.97M) are exceedingly extraneous. Only surprise is 7-foot Clark, a more offensive, healthier version of Marcus Camby. He's available for two reasons. Raptors have determined they don't want to pay what Clark'll be asking to re-sign for and apparently he's got some baggage. Hey, as long as he doesn't carry on the road.
I find it hard to believe that the Rocks would have 1. an injury exception; 2. an expendable player in Williams; and 3. two teams looking to move servicable big men and no deal will be made. They must see something real special in Collier.
1. We don't know what Rudy T has in mind. 2. Walt can be traded at any point this year so there is no rush to take what is out there in case something better comes along. 3. I don't think you can trade the medical exception.
The GSW can kiss my ass, especially Saint Jean for treating Jax like **** all summer and then deciding to sign him, waiting to the last second, literally. That was totally disrespectful. Kandi is ok, but needs some polishing. He might be easy to steal from the Clipps because its been rumored they're not gonna offer him much next year. We might (MIGHT) end up in the lottery next year so Chris Marcus would be a great pickup, too. Especially because we should have a couple of 1st rounders to move up if we have to. Chris Mihm is alright, but I don't see the Cavs parting with him. There was some talk in another thread about Etan Thomas and Popye Jones being on the block, but 6'9" and 6'8" respectively are to short to play center. Although, IF Etan has a good year, I probably wouldn't mind trading K9 for him, once we have Mo back. He lead the nation in blocked shots his senior year.I would rather have a back-up defensive minded 4 than Kenny, who always wants to throw up a shot around 20 feet from the basket. There is a good chance Marc Jackson will be traded to us next year, and with a good 5 that we can pick up in the draft, we should have a pretty solid front court. proposed lineup for next year: 1-Wink,Moochie, T. Brown 2-Cat, Torres(aka Clyde the 2nd) 3-Rice, T.Mo, Langhi 4-MoT, Eddie, Etan Thomas 5-Cato, MJ, Chris Marcus* * in the perfect draft
I stand corrected on the issue of using the exception. I think that it is explained in another thread. I do believe that it can be figured into a trading situation even if it cannot be traded. We do not know what Rudy T has in mind but he has given us some indication. We also know that the exception is history by Monday midnight. GSW and Raptors are reported to be interested in moving fairly respectable big men for backcourt help or for contractual relief. Why wait? Get the person in now and then focus on the season and getting to the playoff. Losing Walter is not a big deal to our team's success this year, baring a numerous injuries.
Mihm, even at his height, is better suited to playing PF than C. Of course, there is NO set standard for what makes a center anymore. I read somewhere around here about Griff playing in the middle...
I would take any of those guys, but how did you get their names? If you just pulled them out of the air, I want to play too... 1. Shaquille O'neal 2. Alonzo Mourning 3. Dikembe Mutumbo 4. Theo Ratliff 5. Kwame Brown
