It's on the HD channels on cable - 306 here. All videos. Nothing but videos. No commercials. No nothing else. And they play a pretty interesting mix of stuff, new and old. A lot of Triple A stuff, but I've heard everything from Weezer and David Gray to Blondie and Bob Marley in the last hour.
I watch it sometimes, even though I just have basic cable the Tube and the local stations' HD channels appear on my TV, some kind of regulation to get HD going. The Tube is what MTV and VH1 are suppose to be.
Don't get Tube on Dish Network. The only music television channel I watch anymore is VH1 Classic. At least they show old concert footage, and I like the series they do on classic albums (I forget what it's called) where they show you how the album was recorded and how the album art came about. Yeah I'm old!
It's got some good stuff - I was watching the "House Of The Rising Sun" video on it yesterday. Why do they waste a HD channel with regular programming?
I think I've seen commercials about the Tube being broadcast on channel 39 late at night or on a certain day.
I does do a good job of mixing it up. If you use a digital receiver and don't have cable it plays 24 hours on 39-2
I LOVE my VH1 Classic. But you know...when I first got it 3 years ago, it was nothing but videos and almost NO commercials. Kind of like MTV (when it first came out) and VH1 (when it first came out) and MTV2 (when it first came out). See where I'm going with this? I love the classic albums too, but they are starting to show a LOT more commercials and even some of the same shows they show on VH1. We should probably enjoy it while we can, because I think it's going to end up just being VH1-2 after a while. And as we all know, VH1 is just like E!-2 now...
