I wish him the best. Once it's announced he is no longer a Rocket. Believe it or not my only beef with him is he's a Rocket coach. Once he leaves all is well and hope him and his family many years of prosperity.
He will only be remembered here for his playoff failures but he did do a great job coaching in the regular season. He awarded 30 strangers season tickets. I think if the Rockets got a more offensive minded coach, he would be a terrific assistant.
I am sure I'm in the EXTREME minority, but I would like to see JVG back for one more year . . . more if that one year goes well I'm not married to it, but I'm nervous about change I guess. Either way, I hope JVG lands on his feet and things work out well for him.
JVG is done. The game is offense oriented now. He is no longer an effective coach. Plus defensive teams are boring. I would much rather be rooting for a Phoenix or GS type of team.
You are not going to have PHX or GS type of team if you have a 7 '5 monster barely able to last 30 minutes in a slow it down style. IF JVG coached a different team I am sure the style would change.
This team has so many holes it's difficult for me to blame anyone. However when a team is in salary cap bondage for years to come and you can't do much in that respect the coach usually takes the fall. Not sure if it's the right thing to do but despite what some think needs to happen it won't because we just don't have the assets or the money to get what we really need. Maybe after two more years we'll be closer but it's going to take more than a single offseason.
Yes the 2006-2007 Bonzi really showed he gave a damn about us by bailing on his team. Name one damn coach who would let the player back if he refused to show up.
the stats I am giving you are 4 years old, you would think that a coach should have turned the team around by now
I guess you never had a bad boss that made your life miserable and you just decided you don't want his job anymore and decided to just walk out.
Agreed. Agreed. I don't think JVG deserves to be let go, but as someone famous said "coached are hired to be fired".
Nor am I making millions to play a child's game. Bonzi got what he wanted and that was a 2nd and 3rd chance. He wanted to blame everyone for him not getting the deal he should of got, he was selfish, sorry it cameback to bite him in the ass. I am more pissed Snyder wasn't given a chance, than ever worrying about bringing back Bonzi. Before you saw what he did against the Spurs last year what would your expectations of been for him?
[But he truly is a workohlic, and prepares his team everytime out there. The guy spent his own hard earned money so that the Toyota Center could have a slight change environment besides the library voices that use to take place. Wherever JVG ends up I wish him the best.[/QUOTE] I appreciate your affirming tone and you are right in commending JVG for his personal contribution in changing the tone of Toyota Center. He does prepare, he does instruct, but he does not motivate with a commanding style of leadership that truly develops players and he clearly lacks as an offensive strategist...
i don' think it will be easy for JVG to find another head coach position in the NBA after the choking job he has done

Let's hope the Rockets organization stands by the Rowdies and coughs up some of its own $ because they really made that much of a difference.
