No. Yao sucks big time in playoff. In 2004 playoff against Lakers, he missed most of his shoots that he normally makes. In 2005, he played only one good game (the second one) against Dallas.
Roffle, come on... you can't be THAT negative about it?! Besides, it says IF we win. Hating really has no place in answer to this thread's question... you can find 100 other threads for that, where they talk about how if JVG had just stuck with Novak, VSPAN, and the Bonz (Ayyyyy) all year that we'd have already won the Championship by now.
Oh, and I didn't vote because the choices were too polarized, but my guess is that yes, he will look different. I do think we'll be able to spot him though, he's kinda tall.
If we are fortunate enough to beat the Jazz in Game 7, Yao will turn into the monster that we were all hoping he'd become. He will average 40 points, 20 rebounds against GS. We haven't seen a performance this dominant since Hakeem vs the MVP David Robinson and the Spurs.
If we are playing small ball against the Golden State team we don't have much of a chance and Yao will be even worst, unless JVG has a brain storm and instructs him to play differently. I can't understand the way Yao is playing in the playoffs, it's though JVG has instructed him to attempt jump shots and be as nonmobile as possible. It's about time that Yao shakes off JVG and starts saying "GIVE ME THE D....... BALL ". Tracy Mc Grady should encourage him to go to the basket and dunk with two hands!
"What you want your PG to do is help your team function to play well, and that's what Rafer does. If people don't understand that, then they don't understand basketball." "I cannot believe for the life of me that anybody could watch us play on a regular basis and not see Rafer's value." That is what every Rockets fan wants but Rafer has a long way to go before he learns to fulfill what is needed to be a great Playmaker Point Guard.
It's funny, everyone is saying how we can't beat GS and that Yao will play terribly. Everyone was saying the exact same thing about Yao whenever we play the Suns... until THIS happened. Yao Ming vs Suns on 4/16/07: 34 points on 14/20 shooting, 9 rebounds, only 1 turnover. I'm sick of people referring to the last game we played against GS. T-MAC PLAYED A TOTAL OF SIX MINUTES BEFORE LEAVING WITH A STIFF BACK! That's kind of a big deal.
Either Yao will destroy the midgets Golden State tries to "guard" him with, or Golden State will concentrate their efforts on stopping him (double him off the ball, etc.) and T-Mac will destroy them. Everyone points to the last game, where Yao was held to like 10/11, but Luther got 30 points on 13 (!) shots, because GS was only worried about stopping Yao. T-Mac could do even more.
regardless of what happens, the team facing the warriors HAS to defend their home court, Dallas lost the series in Game 1, they let the Warriors steal a winnable game for them. Playing at the Oracle is a daunting task
There is a report that Harrington got a back pain so severe after he played that game. I wonder he would last 7 games long against Yao if he continuously fronts Yao.
