From last night's game, a reasonable person could clearly see that Yao's leg was still not 100% and was constantly giving up on him.

Since Yao came back from surgery two months ago, has he ever used his injury as an excuse or even said a word about it? NO! Because he is TOUGH! He plays hard night in and night out and tries his best to help the team. Didn't you guys see him throw his big body on the floor just to save a loose ball? Yao doesn't elbow an opponent to show his toughness because he is noble, because he believes in the sports spirit and sticks with it.

Looking back into his history, before he had the big toe surgery, how many of you actually knew he had been playing with such pain? Before seeing his performance after the recovery, how many of you knew a small nail could affect his game so much? Did Yao ever mention this? NO! Becaus he is TOUGH!

Yao has a big heart and is a true warrior! It is really sad to see his efforts under-appreciated by the fans. For those who are blaming him, calling him soft, calling him b****, shame on you, shame on all of you!

He is a good player but still not reach the level as Kobe, Wade,Shaq, etc.

    Same as Tmac

We don't need to complain anything. Enjoy the lose or win, that is the life.

Well Yao is averaging 25 and 9 for athe season, what else would anyone want. However, he lacks toughness on the court not toughness for playing through an injury or not complaining about his role. we must also admit that the ROX players are not feeding him the ball at the right time.

Look I respect Yao, really I do, I love that he has worked so hard to improve his game every offseason and if he really is hurt that sucks but fact is he has hindered us in this series as much as he has helped. I've said it a million times but without him dominating in the post we lose. He needs to step up in game 7.

It's been 2 months. He should be over his injury by now, even if he was recovering at a slow pace.

All you need to do to toughen Yao up is give him to the Houston Texans for a month running contact drills. LOL

I agree with your post and I also know that there will be many on here who will flame you for the scolding "motherly" manner that you addressed them with.

I don't think this has to do with Yao's toughness.

    I don't think Yao is a p*ssy.

What I think is that we were graced with Yao's God given strength (his incredible height, soft touch and overcompensation to try and do everything perfect) and at the same time cursed by that very same strength (clumsiness, akwardness, speed, and what seems like constant over analysis of every play).

All of these people calling him out are frustrated and reacting like a bunch of turncoat sorry a$$ scum. Obviously instead of support the team while venting out their anger like adults, they resort to calling him p*ssy and wanting him gone. Keep in mind these are the same people who praise and worship the guy other times of the year, unless they are just trolls or haters. You should not take them serioiusly, I know that I don't. They are a worthless waste of time and prove that again and again with their schyzophrenic posts and contradictions. Learn to ignore them and appreciate all of the good that Yao has brought in the past, brings right now, and hopefully will bring in the future.

Yao said to Chinese reports that he can't gain his strength back to the level before the injures because he 'accumulated' his strength due to the hard work in the summer and He lost it during the injury time.

that's why he can't get back his pre-injury MVP form.

Yao will prove everyone wrong once again this Saturday. He is not soft. I hope he has read all that was stated here on this BBS.

You would think. But no. During the 3rd quarter, when he rotated out to help the defense, his leg clearly gave up on him and he stumbled into Fisher and got a blocking foul. He tried his spin-move couple times during the game and there was no push from his leg. That is why he could not gain any speed to bypass his defender.

For now, I can only wish this effect is not permenent and he can fully recover it during this summer.

Yao, is not right. His footspeed is horrible and he can barley jump. Any person watching the games can tell that he isn't even close to 100%. Yao needs to eastablish a deeper position and hope for the best since he can't get passed anyone and his jumpshot is becoming as bad as Mutombos.

u know yao's respect from sloan when he does not even care to double yao or show like he wants to.

yao needs to come out and establish position. i mean, when slaon puts milsap on u and w/ no help AT ALL, u get position. he's 6-8 and ur 7'6.

his stats are VERY misleading. boozer has created more problems for us than yao for utah.

Yao played ugly so far, game 7 is the only chance you can prove. If we loss he may never get that chance back. He has a huge market back in China, but if he keep the way he sucks, guess that market will easily be taken over by Yi Jianlian.

it's not that yao is soft it's that he's so slow and clumsy, but that cant be helped because he's 7'5. im more worried about t-mac. he says this game 7 is not the most important game of his career. what a moron. of course it is. i know for a fact t-mac lacks heart.

I agree with the original poster but Yao still needs to step it up even more if we are getting out of this series.

The thing I fear is that this might be the best we can get out of Yao and still not make it out of the first round..

I have to say that Yao did not try his best to help his team. My Yao can do much better than what he had done in those 6 bad games.

He had moves under the basket, he was unstoppable when single covered. He knew how to pass out of the double team. He was working hard on defensive end. He was yelling and emotional and willing to take the responsibility. I am a fan of that Yao. Yao was tough, was a man, but not now, not in his past 6 games.

Yao would never mention injuries, because those are trully lame excuses.
To earn respect, you have to come out and play at your best, at the level when you were pissed by Stoudmire!

In my deep heart, I am a YOF. After each game, I really want to see a LEGIT post attached to the facts: Yao is the man........, not this thread with false claims.

Since Yao was here, I am a fan of Yao, not a fan of NBA anymore.
I only watch games with Yao in it.

I only watched 1 quarter of other playoff game: pistons vs magic. (ugly game, lousy team, DHoward is wasted there.)

I turned off my TV when Yao didnt show his game face in Utah, twice in this series. I should have done it last game. Our planned viewing party was cancelled because of Yao and Rockets' no show. We don't want to talk about games pretending we don't care. NBA playoffs, it was a big deal before..

I hope yao could bring the NBA back to me tomorrow.

It is all in his head......he just needs to be more decisive.

He is thinking and worrying too much.
