i wouldn't trade yao for dirk because dirk is proven big choker. but would consider other possible trades. A quick big man who is great at rebounds and defense and doesn't require whole team to feed him the ball would be best.

uhhh why do i not see alot of rocket fans in this thread? you guys go nuts like he hasn't just come back from a serious injury. yeah he's to prone but come on we are playing the jazz and its pretty physical out there. WHEN we win game 7 i really expect everyone who's posted negative comments about yao to disappear, especially the poster, uhh yao for dirk no way.

i would consider but probably not do it. we would have perimeter players and no post presences. dirk isnt a post presence.

I've never been a Yao fanatic. I mean, sure, I like Yao, but I like Yao because he's a good player and a Rocket. I don't have any real attachment to him like I did Hakeem and Clyde back in the day. That said, I still wouldn't trade him for Dirk. Dirk is a phenomenal player, but good centers are rare in this league. I also think that Yao has some SERIOUS room for improvement (remember how Hakeem wanted to work with Yao this whole summer?) - Yao's sheer potential (Stro Swift?) is reason enough to not trade him for Dirk. In fact, here's the long list of players (single-player trades only here) I'd trade Yao Ming for:
    Kobe Bryant
    LeBron James

Not even my favorite player in the league, Gilbert Arenas (note: I am NOT an Arenas bandwagon jumper; I've loved Gil since the first time I saw him play), could convince me to trade Yao. Talented big men are THAT rare in the NBA.

In what sense do u think Dirk is better?
he is just a choke player who can not sustain in series

Are you out of your mind?

What about Yao for Garnett? or even Tmac for Garnett? I don't know how the salary part works but .... would love Garnett to be on this team.

I agree, but if we had Odom we need new coach that utilises him correctly. Odom is a STAR. Look at his stat lines when Kobe actually lets him shoot and doesn't jack up 50 shots leaving only 8-9 for Odom.

Odom could easily become our 2nd pt. forward. It would probably make us better because we could get some draft picks + farmar + something else probably.

But for now Yao is what we got, his only problem is he DOES NOT get DEEP ENOUGH (i know thats what she said) but he really needs to post within 5 feet, not 15 feet out. He can't back anyone down 10 feet, without them flopping or pushing back.

Come on Yao get in there, play like a big man.

Dirk = 29, doesnt have a real position, and has no clutch.
Yao = 26, a true center, and he's got some clutch.

Nice to see the IQ level still drops after losses.

Did we lose the series last night or is there another game Sat. nite?
