How Yap is missing his fade aways is beyond me...That's a shot he usually knocks down. He just hasnt been able to get that shot to go here in the post season.

Another weak non-shooting foul called by the whistle-happy refs today... C'mon let them play! And this goes for both sides.

exactly. if yao is going to take fadeaways, he should try to do something to get to the line. he's the best ft shooter in this series shooting 90%. if he takes 10+ fts again, we're in good shape.

If we shoot around 50% behind arc, Jazz has no chance.

Man....I am already loving the energy level of this team tonight.

I would love it if they close out the Jazz in front of their homecourt in game 6 (a little payback).

But even if they come up short tonight, it wont be because they didnt show up to play.

Yes, so it really isn't like he's turning it over. Goaltending and screen were BS and Hayes dropped a pass.So really one turnover

Yao needs to move if he can not jump. if you stand still, no FT. Also, Yao needs to PASS out the rock.

not that he should have 4 TO's in a quarter (well really 3 since off. goaltending isn't really a turnover and it was a bad call anyway), but he's always going to be high turnover. being 7'6 means he's slow, awkward and predictable b/c of both of those things and he doesn't have strong hands. he gets beat for position, travels b/c his footwork gets messed up b/c of his awkwardness, and people can strip him b/c his moves are so slow (again b/c he's 7'6). if you remember him when he first came here and think about him now, i think he's done everything he can in his power to try to make his 7'6 frame a coordinated scoring machine, but at the end of the day, it just doesn't compare to nba athleticism and speed and it never will. it takes everything he's got to make a good looking spin move with falling or traveling so it's just something we have to deal with as a consequence of the obvious benefits of being 7'6.

That's what's so frustrating about it. The Jazz's defense is geared towards limiting T-Mac's penetration while staying close enough to the three point line to bother the three-point shooters. Yao, for the most part, has seen single coverage all series long. He's not dominating because of his hesitation; instead of receiving the ball deep inside and immediately turning and shooting it, he's dribbling way too much and going AWAY from the basket (instead of towards it) to take low-percentage shots.

It's clear that the Jazz are in Yao's head, let's just hope that we can win this series and see him recover for the next round.
