I generally am a fan of Jim Rome, but it really starts to get on my nerves sometimes after he finishes an interview and then spends the next 25 minutes literally congratulating himself. "That was a great interview. He's such a class act. Rack him. Dear Rome, Rusty Freakin' WALLACE! That was one of the best interviews I've ever heard. John from Motown. I agree John. Great Interview. He is such a great ...."

I don't mind Rome, but when he takes calls, I can't stand to listen to all the clones with their scripted "takes" all trying to get in the smack off. Just not good entertainment.

it was Rome interviewing Jim "Chris" Everett.

Rome knows people will break it up. He'd never do that in the streets.

he even jokes about it now.

sometimes callers would call dudes by girls names, like emily manning on the new york giants for instance, and rome would be like "dont call him by a girls name. i would never do something like that".

recently some soccer player said "jim rome can suck my dick" to some reporter, then rome had the guy on the next day and forgave him. wtf? i would put a foot up his ass.

Rome forgave him because the weak ass soccer player backpeddled and said he didn't mean it, thus giving Rome the upper hand. It was a players chance to lay the hammer down on Rome and he blew it. Rome talks a lot of smack about guys who won't come on his show because he knows he won't have to confront them.

Why does Rome talk so much crap about womens basketball, yet when Pat Head Summit comes on his show he licks her toes? Why doesn't he talk to her about how bad the WNBA is?

Because ultimately, Rome is a p***y with a big persona. He's the kind of guy who would terrorize somebody in World of Warcraft but get his ass kicked in real life.

HAHAHA yea, I could kind of tell by his demeanor he would be that way. He'll talk crap about people on the tv show then when interviewing a teammate or someone he'll back off and not even bring anything up about it.

I don't know if he'd back down. He certainly didn't against Everett. But if he actually inspires somebody to fight him, his ass is toast. I could imaging Barry Bonds, in a fit of roid rage, just randomly slapping the sh*t out of him one day.

i was listening...and asking myself the same question.

it's a big, sprawling space saga of rebellion and romance.
