I'm sorry if this has been posted before, or is in the wrong thread. But, i want to know why Marv Albert never commentates any rockets games?
we're just not good enough to get the A crew or even the B crew, so we get Miller time, and the C Crew.
TV and the NBA pander to the casual fan. You know, the guy who thinks Shaq is still 28 and the guy who thinks Dirk is as good as Larry Legend. The same guy who thinks Lebron is clutch. I would like to thank David Stern. I know his job is to sell the league to as many people as possible but I consider him nothing more than a pimp who sold the soul and integrity of the game for profit. The rule changes, the no tolerance, the dress code...you name it and he's done what he has to in order to make this game all things to all people EXCEPT the real fans.
Kevin Harlan & Doug Collins are a much better crew. Anyone ever noticed how the crowd sounds weird in marv albert games? Its like a weird sucked in noise
It ain't so bad. The Mavs-Warriors series has been getting the C team, Dick Stockton and Reggie Miller.
i've been watching these games on the local broadcast... BaD radio on the ticket were talking about how awful dick stockton is as an announcer. just listen to him, and count how many times he says "SO..."
I love Kevin Harlan's line 'He just sucked the gravity right out of the building!!!" I'm pretty sure you know what this is about.
Yea i was watching the lakers game last night and Kevin Harlan is pretty good. He's very enthusiastic. Especially when Mario made that back to back alley-oop sequence. Still, a great combo would be Marv and Kevin..dont you think?
Nah...you need balance. Two similar color guys would just step on each other. They can't both yell out an excited line when a big play happens. You need the straight play-by-play guy and the color guy. Optionally, you could have a third guy providing insight, but normally that falls on one of the two standard commentators. Evan
