If the Man U that showed up yesterday vs. Roma shows up for the semis and finals, then give them the trophy. If the one that showed up against Lille and in the group stages, or the one that played portsmouth last week shows up.... man football is so fickle.
Not this year. The past couple of years they have played erraticly, esp. in the CL, but this year they have really stepped it up. They have had a hard time against portsmouth as of late, so it was only a shock for the year, but not if you take the past couple of years into account. The thing that surprised me the most about this year is the play of Rooney. He was getting hammered by the press/fans for not scoring, but that was overshadowed by the "will Ron be leaving for Real" stories. I think he has finally hit his stride and scoring touch. If he starts going on a tear, then forget about it. It's over for AC Milan, Watford and Chelski. I don't know what I'm more excited about, the CL or the Premiership. The big game at Stamford Bridge is coming up soon and I can't wait. Who would of thought, 2 EPL teams with a chance to win the treble. But only one with a realistic chance.
I know but I don't want the premiership title to come down to goal differential....that would sort of taint it a bit. DD
Technically Chelski still has a shot at the quadruple since they also won the Carling Cup. Would have been a quintuple if they had won the community shield.
It'll be tough to match yesterday's game. That was pretty amazing. I'm not a Chelsea fan, but I love the idea of them and ManU playing for the treble.
Beating Milan with only 1/4 of our starting back line is unbelievable. This leg is far from over though, giving up to away goals will be crucial in the second leg. Rooney's goal to end it was brilliant.
Just a head's up. Liverpool-Chelsea just started the second period of extra time, and this match looks like it will be going to PKs.
Liverpool is through on penalties. Rena was fantastic saving 2. ManU and AC Milan tomorrow at 1:45 central for the other 1/2 of the final.
Match starts in 10 minutes. I'm more nervous now then I have been for Rockets playoff games this season.
Man U looks terrible.....only 1 shot on goal and not many chances created. Got to get 2 goals and concede 0 in the 2nd half to advance. DD
I'm a bit disapointed, i was expecting a exiting game . Lets hope Man U has something left. BTW. Kaka is amazing.
He's been good, but Gattuso has been by far the man of the match. He's completely neutralized Ronaldo, and has seemed to stop every United attack before it even starts.
I think the rain bothers players like Ranaldo, it is too slippery to set up opponents with his nifty footwork and speed, the wet surface will make the dribble moves difficult and the muddy turf will nuetralize his speed advantage. I think Man U is doomed. DD
We're freaking MANCHESTER United. Have you ever been to Manchester? It rains every day! If anything the rain should be to our advantage. We train and play in it all the time.
