    Robert Horry - F - SA - Apr. 22 - 10:26 am et

Spurs forward Robert Horry has not only never missed the playoffs in 14 years, but every one of his teams has advanced to the second round.
"I came close a lot of times," Horry said. "I've been very fortunate I've never missed the second round. Hopefully, the streak will continue. I don't even like to bring up stuff like that." Compare that to a guy like the Warriors' Adonal Foyle, who finallly made the playoffs for the first time in his 10 NBA seasons, and Horry's record is almost unbelievable.

Nah, the Rockets could beat the Mavs. Hopefully, we'll be saying the same thing about San Antonio.

I know he doesn't have the stats, but i think you could make an arguement that Horry deserves to be in the hall of fame. Has there ever been a more clutch player in the league than Horry? And yes, i am including air mike.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasnt Horry on the 1996 ROckets team that got swept by the zone defense Sonics?? He wasnt traded to Phoenix for Chuck till that offseason.

That was in the 2nd round. They beat Magic (The PF)'s Lakers in the first round.

Yeah, just looked it up. Dunno why it feels like the Sonics series was a first rounder though... Lakers didnt put up much of a fight.

It's great to be part of great teams for 14 straight years

Just like Reggie Jackson (and Dirk) are Mr. October, Robert Horry is Mr. June. Has there ever been a player in any sport that always showed up just in time like Robert Horry?

I remember that series for two things.

    1. FAT Magic Johnson
    2. Clyde missing a dunk on the break cause his ups were not 'the glyde' anymore.

I've never seen a player age faster than clyde from 95 to 96. he won his ring just in time.

I always thought that he had just lost a lot of motivation after getting his ring. He really dropped some muscle mass that season too, which made me think he wasn't working out as hard either.

you don't put players in the HOF for winning championships.

Otherwise, Steve Kerr, Horace Grant, Luc Longley and a host of other players would be in, while Reggie Miller, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone would be out, to name a few.

I don't think Horry falls into the first category of completely riding others coattails to his rings. You CAN make a legitimate argument that on every one of his teams, without him, they may not win. But then, you could also make an argument that if you plugged in Player X on those teams in place of Horry, you still would have won.

Horry's career stats are nowhere near HOF level.

I couldn't disagree with you more. There is no one who could do the things that Horry has done in the playoffs over is career. He may not be a MJ or Duncan, but this guy plays the smartest basketball I have ever seen. He always seems to be in the right place at the right time, and makes the clutchest of shots, even at his age.
