ok i know we can't win a lot of games but we have to make every effort to trade or whatever to win some games now. for one reason only, this city already turned down the stadium issue once and if we have a bad team there is no way the stadium will pass and the rockets will end up gone
I would think honor is a good enough reason not to tank. Everyone here criticized SA for tanking in '97 to get Tim Duncan... Apparently, now that it's us involved, it's now perfectly OK, though. Besides, the players are going to have to learn how to win close games eventually... No better time than now when it doesn't really matter.
For the record, I do not want the Rockets to "tank it" on the court. I've never said that and I don't think the team is doing that now. What I don't want is the Rockets fielding players that are going to help us win now but wont be here in a year or two (trade Dream argument). I believe if the Rockets are going to rebuild they need to field a young team that can grow together and know they're going to be together for a while. Naturally early on they're going to lose (as we see now). But I've covered that before... Anyhow, there is absolutely nothing good about losing to the Jazz. Also TheFreak, I plan on responding to your other post, it's just that I've only gotten to Chapter 6 so far on your response... when I finish I'll respond
We may not be "trying" to tank, but it sure does not look like the Rockets organization is interested in winning right now. Look at Mack for instance, or not trading for some veteran help, we are in for a long 3-5 year rebuilding process if we do not get some veteran leadership in here ASAP. DaDakota
