why would anyone want that job? what makes you think Jeff wants the job and is ready to "pack up and leave for NYC"

did you have dinner with Van Gundy last night? when did you become his mouthpiece?

Why would you want another heartless guy on a team full of softies?

    Rashard disappears in big games.

Simple as this- he comes back no matter what- 3 year extension- he is in like Flint. 22 sellouts plus 3 home game playoff sellouts = good return on investment.

The only way Van Gundy leaves now is if he decides to on his terms. Mark my words - if we lose the Utah series Van Gundy will play head games with Les that he is responsible for the loss and is considering leaving.

    No way he is fired.......

Jvg is over-conservative; under his coaching, it's hard for young players to get improved. Also, we could have brought MikeJames back. I really don't know why he sticks to Howard who really did nothing in the playoff.

He always does a good job wherever he goes. He got firedin Detroit for basically nothing. Alrry Brown gets credit for the champinship and putting them over the edge but he had Rasheed wallace on his team. Rick did a great job there. He also kept that punk Pacer team together with Ron Artest and kept them in contention for a number of years. I like Carlisle and Adelman.

Seems to me "Lost NBA finals" is the highlight of Mr. Van Gundy's career.

Also, "Lost NBA Finals" and "quit" were the *same* season. You'd have to include a "won NBA championship" to that list to make it five years. Granted, that championship will fall off that "five seasons" list shortly.

The biggest thing you look at with a coach, aside from W/L, is whether he gets through to the team. If you're not looking to rebuild, and if the coach hasn't lost the locker room, there's no need to fire the coach.

Rudy had little sway or control of the team (Francis) when he was asked to go. This roster, at least the rotation players, are all solidly behind Gundy. While this BBS hates him, the players themselves don't.
