Wow, Golden State is a perfect contrast to the Rockets. You can see the determination, heart, and focus of Golden State in every game. Tonight, Dallas attempted to widen their lead in the 3rd quarter multiple times, but Golden State fought back over and over again.

The most ironic moment was how Baron Davis scored a 3 pointer to end the second half, with 1.1 seconds left on the clock. If 5 seconds isn't enough, how much is 1.1 seconds? But there is a difference between TMac's motivation versus Baron Davis' motivation. For that matter, it looks like there is a difference in motivation between the rest of Golden State and the rest of the Rockets.

I truly wish Baron Davis' determination will rub off on TMac and the Rockets somehow. JVG really needs to show TMac and the Rockets the replays of Golden State tonight, especially with emphasis on Baron Davis' 3 pointer with 1.1 seconds left. When Baron Davis fights Dallas to the end, even fighting Dallas over 1.1 seconds, it shows the type of determination that TMac - and the rest of the Rockets - needs to acquire.

our series is a total flip of play and there is no way to compare the two in any aspect, with that in mind, our team's determination won't be as great :( but yeah it would be nice to see some fire in them instead of the droopy demure talk that we hear every game

I was JUST about to make a post about this same topic. Tracy McGrady needs to look at Baron Davis and study how he plays. He doesnt talk, his ego isnt swelled up, he doesnt say crap like "Its on me". He just plays, he drills a cold blooded shot with 50 seconds to play and he lets his teammates feed of his energy. He is a leader, a stand up and classy guy. He plays with heart, and his team looks as if they'd follow him to the end of the earth. T-Mac looks bored.

I was just about to create this thread, but you beat me to the punch. If the Rockets played half as determined as the Warriors, they would have swept the Jazz by now.

I agree. McGrady seems to have gotten some of his old arrogance back ever since we won homecourt. He needs to just shut up and play like he wants to win. Whether we like it or not, we really are riding on his shoulders.

Yup, absolutely agreed. It's not just the performance of Davis that is spectacular, it is Baron Davis' willpower. And you can see Baron Davis' determination rub off on the rest of his teammates. All the Warriors are determined and you can see them fighting Dallas tooth and nail for every possession.

I noticed that when guys come to double tmac off the pick and roll, he doesnt try to fight through it or go around the second defender. I saw Baron tonight try to go around the second guy coming off the pick and even drew a blocking foul on dirk b/c he tried to fight through the trap. I wish tmac would try to do this more.

We all know what has to be done now. I'll put in 20$ and we can all put in our bit to hire some people to rough up the Jazz then the Warriors players if you know what I mean. I bet Mike Tyson would do it.

    Adulterous feelings

After watching the Rockets and Warriors for 4 games, a terrible thought has come over me. If we squeak through this series playing the way we're playing, and we face those guys in the next round, I'm gonna feel such an urge to applaud them that I'll need a couple of beers just to sedate myself back into loyalty.

Come on, Rockets. Put some zip back into our marriage. You don't have to win every game, but at least make yourselves admirable. If you won't read scouting reports, maybe you'll do us the courtesy of watching some Warriors film. You might even develop a passion for the game.

The last time an 8th seed had a 3-1 edge on a #1? Orlando against Detroit with Tmac going off. We need that Tmac for game 5.

I don't think we want to face them in the second round. With the way the Warriors are playing, we would be the underdog going into the second round against them ;)

well, talent is one thing, and heart is another thing, so please don't mix them.
Also, game style is one thing, and again heart is another thing, so don't mix them either.

I honestly thought we would see the TMac from Orlando in this series. Thus, I wasn't really concerned when he wasn't playing poorly after Yao got back from injury, because I believed he would revert to the unstoppable TMac once the playoffs started. Anyways, here's to hoping still ...

    What are you talking about?

We passed guys like Matt Barnes, Azubuike, Monta Elis,Al Harrington either in trade opportunity or draft opportunity since our coach prefers "Defence minded" Players. Also, His poor development on new guys like Bonzi,Steve Novak, Vspan shows how he is .... when it counts.

Wow...I said the same thing, verbatim, to my dad during the 3rd quarter tonight.

It's so refreshing to see a team playing with so much heart, but equally depressing to know that the team I love is playing with none.
