Killing the symptoms instead of the root of the problem isn't going to solve anything... For every kid (or adult) you kill, more will pop up if we don't fix the problem itself. All it does it provide more fodder to potential new recruits to convince them that the U.S. really is evil. They say "the US is evil and kills kids". If we do it, then these recruits start believing Al Queda tells the truth and America is full of it. That's the absolute worst thing that would happen.
It looks like to me those helpful kids are just trying to help the lady....it's apparent she is going the wrong way. What's the problem?

DoD The instant I read your words I was reminded of something I have heard before, so I went and found it. Qu'ran: Chapter 49, Verse 13: O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise (each other). Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things). Something for all to consider, not for DoD specifically: Emotion based actions are nearly always different from rational and thought out actions. We (humanity) are at our best when we take the time to make sure our actions are based on logic and thought and not on emotions.
NO RichRocket, you don't KILL the the roots, you treat them, with edumacation. Once the roots begin absorbing the pure nutrition, the rest of the tree will first begin to heal, then to grow, blossom, and eventually bear fruits.
I am pretty certain that a good portion of our RUSSIAN friends grew up hating us, it did not take long for that to change. Information is power, we have to INFORM these people of the truth, and let them use their own noggins to sort it out. When all you hear or know is false, you quickly lose faith in your teachers when they are exposed for the liars that they are. I can understand anger at the situation. Anger at the parents. Anger at that society. But wanting to hit an 8 year old kid with a baseball bat??? For him I feel nothing but sadness and pity. What a truly twisted upbringing he's being given. Hopefully when he's old enough to make his own decisions, he can rise above the hatred that he's being taught. But I doubt it.
I absolutely agree with you, but the problem I keep bringing up is how can you be rational with those who are irrational? How can you be rational against those taught to hate irrationally? I try to practice exactly what you're preaching in every day life, but there's only so far I can go. I defend Palestinians because I think they were wronged. I defend rational Muslims in the Middle East because they are not militant morons as are the radical element. I defend Jews/Israelis because I believe they have been wronged as well. But I'll be damned if I attempt to defend anyone taught to hate blindly and then are taught to kill in the name of their religion because simply-put, they are bred to hate and the rational thought of which you speak does not exist within them.

When someone says "I felt like screaming my head off", do you ever see their head fall off? When people say "I felt like knocking him upside his head", do you really ever see them do it? Jesus, use some common sense. I was trying to convey my anger, and knocking someone off a bike with a baseball bat was a good way of doing it. Did you bother watching or did your emotions override your comprehension at that point? Secondly, I never stated I had anything against the Afghan people; as a matter of fact, I have stated in thread after thread that I hate this war because it hurts the innocent. So I suggest you comprehend a bit better instead of putting words into my mouth and achieving some self-gratification by pointing out things that don't exist.
