I wonder if warriors is a good opponent for the jazz. O wait there's 3 games left of this ugly series
i know..everyone just assummed the series was done after we win some pathetic home games and started making polls. series is not over till someone wins 4 games. it's not over even if the series is 3-1..we all know what happened to the lakers last year.
am i the only one that thinks the rockets would have an easier time with ANY other team in the playoffs than utah ??? its the physical play thats getting to us. i dont think we would have near as much trouble against dallas or even san antonio.
let me clarify that i was talking offensively. i highly doubt we would be shooting this low a % againt the mavs.
It looks like the Rockets' possible second round opponent(s) will be a set of golf clubs and the remote control.
It makes you mad that rockets fan are thinking about the Mavericks and Warriors. Doesn't it? I want the Warriors to beat the Mavericks, so that we can get them in the 2nd round.
*sigh* This board is used for venting, as well as, actually game talk. Hey, how about everyone make their own vent thread.......
I guess some of us have forgotten what the Warriors did to us a couple of weeks ago but, I wouldn't feel too confident about them. We've seen it a hundred times against the Suns, the Rockets have trouble winning the tempo battle with up and down teams. In that last game Yao would have people fronting him and no one could loft a post entry pass on the little 6-5 players head. It was so pathetic, Yao would have the defender on his hip with his hand up with plenty of room to fit a pass but it was almost always a turnover. The Rockets would have to keep the pace even more deliberate than usual to win a series agaisnt Golden State. We obviously don't have the firepower to run with them and as cold as our 3-point shooting is so far, we can't rely on the drive and dish or the inside/outside game from Yao to Battier/Rafer/Head. We'd have to force feed Yao and have T-Mac get more aggressive. If T-Mac isn't going to the hole, then get Yao on the block, no one can contest his shot on that team if he gets good position and someone can throw a post entry pass. If they triple team him, pass it around the perimeter, let him role to the other block and get it to him there. Obviously 2nd round talk is pre-mature considering our current situation, but, I'd take the Rockets in 7 over the Warriors if they do meet. It's going to be a tough damn series. If we thought Deron Williams has killed Rafer, just wait till Baron Davis gets his shot at him. The Rockets will have to keep a slow, deliberate tempo and force feed Yao to win that series. It's all about taking advantage of your mismatches, so eliminate their advantage by walking up the ball and working the shot clock and keeping the tempo slow and take advantage of your mis match by getting Yao the ball in the post against their midgets.
