The problems with losers are they like to talk the big talk after the game is over. Take Carlos boozer after Game 1. The media was hounding him egging him on about how Ming was too tall for him and ****, He STFU and left. Game 2 he burned our asses for 41. He is the leader for them in this series. Action speaks louder for words. His action spoke volumes more than anything he could say to his teamates and fans. T-mac is just all talk. He talked his ass off 2 years ago against the Mavs when we had a 2-0 lead. Looked what happened when he thought he would finally get past Rnd 1. Damn loser will always be a loser.
Haha you're funny. If T-Mac is all talk, then why is it that the series is 2-2 and not 0-4? You do realize that we won the 1st 2 games right? And you do realize that T-Mac played a role in both of those wins right?
series isn't over yet, buddy but TMac should have admitted to playing like sh#t and not really trying
Tmac sounds like me after a math test or something.. just lost his will. This is really upsetting. Tmac will have 1 more chance and that is game 5. If nothing changes, then I won't even bother watching game 6. The series is gone.. and he will have lost a fan (and maybe hundreds, thousands, millions more). Pick it up Tmac. Don't be the next Scotty Quitten.
Could it possibly be that if he should that this was getting to him and disappoints was messing with his head, he wouldn't want to let the Jazz and the Media know that? I mean look at how much they ran with the Kirelenko thing? He may not want to make a story out of it and not let the Jazz know he is frazzled.
when the reporter asked about how he can inspire his teammates..he had no clue what to say.. "uhh..hmm..well talk to them?" if he says nothing and we lose i can understand..but a guy who is getting 20mil a season who runs his mouth and doesn't even show up for the playoffs..that just makes me mad. even though we won the first 2 games..we could have easily lost them too. jazz sucked so it covered up our suckiness. now that they started playing better we finally realize how horrible we are.
Tmac played passively, no doubt about it, if he is aggressive the team follows suite. But when he is passive, it is easy to beat the Rockets..... It really is all on Tmac....and he is a mentally flawed player. Hopefully we get the Lion in game 5 and not the turnip. DD
Didn't really want to check out this part of the bbs today, but I was really curious about the postgame interviews. Does anyone know where we can read/listen to more of them? I'll do my best to avoid any bashing, but I've got to comment on this gem. Clearly the whole team did not play well and there is plenty of blame to go around. But from listening to this interview, the most shocking thing to me is that Tmac put most of the onus of this loss on the rest of the team. Sounds like he was totally content w/ his performance, the only thing left is to 'inspire my teammates' to play better and to 'get on them in practice.' Ooookaaayy.....
The most telling part is when Tmac says that his troubles are the least of the team's worries. He is completely wrong. His troubles are the core of the team's worries, especially if you believe his ESPN interview during game one when he said that everybody on the team relies on him for their game (i.e., "When Rafer gets those wide open 3s, it's because I passed it to him. When Shane gets those great looks, it's because I created it for him. When Yao needs because he's being double teamed, I help him to get it going."). If we had Tmac from the Phoenix game, we would have swept this series 4-0 and won each game by 10 to 20 points. Come on Tmac, it's on you.
I don't know Tmac personally but it's probably safe to say he is a laid-back guy. I'm not going bash him for that. He is not going to yell, scream or show any other other emotion out there. Neither does Tim Duncun. But the difference between the two is that Duncan seems to have a killer instinct that Tmac will never have. The problem is that the game comes too easy to Tmac. He has too much confidence in his outside shot. He thinks no matter how cold he is he will eventually heat up. It's a shame I think he could have been better than Kobe. I think the Rockets can still succeed with Yao and Tmac but unless Vspan develops into who we hope he can be or the Rockets draft a RELIABLE 3rd scorer its going to be tough.
Well spoken and I believe this is why the Rockets have said they need to surround Yao and Tmac with pit bulls. Which the team has done a very very VERY poor job of doing....outside of Sura, Snyder and V-Span. DD
I wouldn't really go THAT far. Tmac did have killer instinct in the past. Do you remember that 13 points in 30 seconds? He just hasn't shown much of it this season, and especially not this playoff series.
That was more a reflection of his talent rather than his will. 2005 vs. Dallas was a good example of what he can do when he "wants it". We'll see what happens in these next 3 games. I would not bet on Tmac but I sure as hell wouldn't bet against him either.
It's never too late to realize T-Mac's talking is cheap. How did he talk about his previous teams? How did he talk about his mileage? How did he talk about what the purpose of worse teams play together in a game while he's in Orlando? This guy has no heart at all. Remember it IS the fans to pay your >20 millions paycheck, show your effort !
My own director's cut of the interview "Tracy, there was a sequence at the end of the 2nd quarter going into halftime, where you guys had 5 seconds left to try and cut Utah's lead down, but decided to pass on that opportunity, can you tell me what was going on in your mind?" "Well...we were down and they had just scored on an uncontested layup by Fisher. I was thinking that I could have imposed my will for the last 5 seconds but then I realized...you were fooled. You were fooled into believing that I would have used those 5 seconds to try and cut their lead down. You were fooled thinking that a 2-time scoring champ, a perennial All-Star, would have tried to get down the court and get my team a bucket." "So...what are you trying to say? That we were mislead into thinking that you were going to try and help your team?" "It takes five...it takes five. I tried to draw a double team and they actually came. So I passed it off to Chuck, hoping that he had some range on his shot. But, what can you do? It was a last second shot and we can't depend on those. I was hoping that it would have went in because that would have inspired my teammates. It would have inspired them a lot. I would have inspired them by drawing the double team and having Chuck take a 3. He don't make many of those, y'know, so if that shot would have went in, it would have been huge. But it didn't, and the losses in Utah are on me. I take the blame." "You think the Rockets will bounce back and take the next two?" "Of course. All we have to do is show some intensity and play better basketball. And after we win the series, I'll show how all of y'all were fooled...into thinking that we were down and out. But you're not a fool, are you?"
