To save time, everyone can just rant about how JVG is outcoached, Yao is getting bullied by Okur, TMac is playing soft, our bench cannot hit a shot, we cannot rebound, etc... Go ahead and overreact in here so the board doesn't get full of negative threads Look, we played badly two games in a row. We have to win 2 of 3 with two at home...this series is FAR FROM OVER. We will make adjustments and shots will fall. Believe
thank you for this thread...its annoying to read all the basher thread titles after EVERY loss...the rockets are still in good position to win this series
Glad you are still on board. We need all the arms we can get to help everyone back onto the bandwagon when we win game 5
Sweet...it only took 30 minutes for the "Time for VSpan" thread I love it. People seem to think this series is over
word...... we still have home court advantage... one Rox win doesn't mean we are going to sweep Utah, one Rox loss doesn't mean the series is over..
Great thread idea. Here, I'll say it all. Van Gundy can't coach a YMCA team. T-Mac sucks, he settles for jumpers. Yao is soft, he lets Okur push him around. Battier doesn't do enough. Hayes needs a jumpshot and needs to not foul. Bench Rafer, he sucks. Bench Luther, he sucks. Cut Juwan, he sucks. Play Spanoulis, Snyder, Bonzi, and Novak. They're going to bring us to the promised land. Taking Clyde on the road ruined the team. Read those statements. If your thread says any of them, save it. It's all been said before 6.2 Billion times. Type it up in Word if you need to vent. But don't litter the GARM with it.
I could understand 400 threads about how everything is f*cked if WE LOST THE SERIES...but that hasn't (and won't) happen
oh, I agree completely that his last two games, especially tonight, were awful and he didn't seem to care, but no point in making 20 threads about it yeah, we did play like **** tonight, but it's all tied up w/ 2 at home!
Good idea buddy. I wish everyone would put all their negative, over emotional, over reactive response in one thread but it looks like your too late. I'm with you guys. I'm skipping this board tomorrow altogether. Four games tomorrow though! I'll look for the Heat to get bounced, Suns silencing the Fakers fans, and I'm looking forward to a fun GS/Dallas game once again. Good night!
not overreacting..just concerned that our offense has been ridiculous..tmac has disappeared so has everyone else not named yao.. that being said, monday will be a must win...
I've been gone for such a long time, biding my time, waiting, watching. So here's the deal, this is a momentous occasion, it is in fact my 500th post, I'd like to make it special for everyone. First and foremost, any person with 499 posts or fewer should not be able to react to the game. I think that should be a rule. With that said, I move on. Truth be told to put blame in one specific direction would be idiotic and childish. There is sooo much to go around. First and foremost, Coaching: Why the hell is Rafer still bringing up the ball when Houston is down 20+? Your number one offensive power should be bringing in the ball, drawing the double team from the start and taking it to the hole or shooting an easy three over smaller less competent defenders or even passing to the open space. JVG has little to no faith in Tmac, and I think it is very apparent after games three and four. To counter this point, JVG is possibly the best coach we've seen in a very long time (yes, the former Treasurer of The I Hate Van Gundy club is praising him). He knows, a hell of a lot more about basketball than I or any single one of you on the forums. I think, he needs to ignite Tracy, the way his mentor Pat Riley ignites Dwade. Truth be told, if Dwade were not injured (thanks Shane ), that series would be over. Game 5 is another game, JVG will get a second shot at all this, so chillax. Tmac: A phrase I use all the time (stolen from the Replacements) is that when the game is on the line, winners always want the ball. Tmac never does. Never ever, well, there is one situation where he did: See, when Tmac chooses to take over a game, he can be amazing, as we all know. He didn't do that in any of the past four games, including the wins. The other problem is that Tmac has spoiled the Rockets with late game bursts. We have grown to rely on it. Yao is damn consistent and will always get you the same stats, but Tmac, he's a wild card. Lately, he's been more of a card, and less wild (bad joke, I know). I'm glad he wants to be "the leader" and that "it's on him", but, being a leader is inspiring your teammates, bringing the ball up, loosening the pressure on your role players, standing up to the refs when bad calls are made, getting technicals, and igniting your fellow Rockets. Tmac has done none of this. However, Tmac has been a force to reckon with. And now, more than anytime Tmac's skills will be tested. I think he will pass with flying colors. The rest of the Rockets: there is no hustle, no flow, no love of the game. Even the tremendously emotional Chuck Hayes has gone stoic. Emotions need to run high when we are winning and losing. Thats the only way to win on the road. Otherwise, F beating Utah, we will be massacred by any higher seeded team. Hell, we barely have home court advantage in our own arena! For those who watched the miracle posted above, how many of you saw it originally on TV, live? How many of the fans stuck around for that game? That's what I thought. The Rockets need to ignite themselves, but having fans who hoot and hollar during the games can't hurt. Lastly, the officiating: When four of a teams five starters have 4+ fouls, and it didn't go to overtime, there is something wrong here. Seriously, how is that possible? The refs need to learn, it's the playoffs, swallow your whistles and let them play! True, it doesn't make up a 20+ point difference, it is a momentum shifter though. In spite of all the garbage I listed above, we are still in it to win it. I used to be a big Kurt Angle fan. He used to have the three I's: Integrity Intensity Intelligence Take this to heart Rockets, and play like there's nothing to lose. But what do I know? I'm just some obsessed Rockets fan who named his iPod Clutch and wears red boxers whenever the Rockets play. Pizza out baby.
I hope the guys walk into the arena Monday with the mind set that They will defend Utah - stop Utah- Play like it's the end of the world Defensive effort will give our offense some breathing room to gel Hell - we had a good 1st half tonite- we can beat these guys! Go Rockets!!! Kick butts and take names!!!!!!
It's tough to believe when the team is playing like rotting rump roast, and got two wins because the other team was playing equally poorly. I don't consider it overreaction to be concerned when you see the wheels come off in a game like this.
