as for the 8th seed and 1 seed yeah it has been done twice before by the nuggets over the sonics and the knicks over the heat

    BUT

there has never been an 8th seed upsetting a one seed since the first round went to a 7 game format. so yes the mavericks can make history in doing so. also i am not positive (maybe the sonics were) could the mavs be the first ever #1 team in the entire nba to lose in the first round? they could also be the winningest team not to make it past the first round or a championship. :D :D

If this turns out true.. I wish the Mavs would've overtaken the Bulls for the best regular season record. 75-7 or something.

We didn't have McGrady for that game. And we really kind of beat ourselves anyway by making unforced turnovers and failing to get Yao the ball.

Don Nelson is really a mad scientist type of coach. Harrington is ineffective in the first 2 games, immediately he replaced him with Biedrins which not only confused the Mavs but also trying to light fire under Harrington's a$$.

Not bashing JVG, how i wish JVG will change his roster a bit, like play synder more minutes who drive to the basket a lot, to help the offense here and there.

Stephen Jackson - "Bi**h! You got any balls?"

Dirk - "I got just one, and I am saving it for Hasselhof. Go shoot someone else."

Like Fred Carter said- Nelly is soft pedaling on the victory- nothing said to inflame the Maverick's players. Nelly was all class and cool humor with Barkley. Came across real well. Loose and easy. Nellie is really sharp....

I bet Cuban is ready to chew through a live electric cord!!!

The best part about the Warriors wins is seeing Cuban suffer.

    I like seeing Cuban suffer.

That Warriors team was just sucking at the beginning of the year... then they went through a big trade. Their personnell was constatnly in flux all season.

I think you can probably change everything more easily with that team than you can with the Rockets because they are used to the changing lineups anyway.

This season, the Rockets had a fairly consistent group playing, the only major changes were made when Yao was out... but he was replaced by other regulars in the rotation (Juwan, Deke).

Warriors remind me a bit of the 92-93 Rockets. They flip a switch and they go from "eh" to really, really good.

I don't know how much of what we're seeing is just a matchup problem the Mavs have. But how the hell do the Mavs respond after that??? They were absolutely handed their butts.

They remind me of the '94-95 team.

In mid season they were struggling and added key new players (Clyde Drexler), then they had a major injury to a player who had to sit out a good portion of time (Hakeem - Iron deficiency), and just at the right time, they jelled in the playoffs.

The Warriors remind me of our 2nd championship team.......

However, they are just a NIGHTMARE matchup for the Mavs.......The way to beat teams that go really small, is to pack the paint, force them to shoot jumpers on defense and on offense POUND it in to the low block and offensive rebound like mad.

The Rockets have the low post players to do that....the Mavs.......

    BWAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA ....don't.

i'm with you, da da...it's pure joy to watch that team lose. i get more joy out of watching them lose than i got watching the malone/stockton jazz lose. i think that's largely because of cuban.

Yeah, and I also enjoy watching their games more than the grind it out ugly ball that Houston and Utah are playing.

Of course I have to watch because of Houston...but still....

I love watching teams push the ball and pressure the defense early......

That's why I said on several occasions that I wanted the Mavs to win as many regular season games as possible. It makes losing in the playoffs that much more humiliating and disappointing.

Like I said before, Dallas has got to play their bigs to win this series. Pack the paint and only guard Sjax and Jrich at the 3-point line. If you got a big lineup, Mavs can punish the Warriors on the offensive boards and that will effectively stop their fast break.

They were able to do it in Game 2, but then they just got shell shocked in Oakland. Can't blame them cuz Oracle Arena was really rocking last night.

I'm in the same boat. I just hope tonight's game is entertaining....and Houston wins of course. I'm so tired of these boring games.

Should we face the Warriors, I question JVG's ability to exploit them on offense, we all know they will pack the paint and intercept every lazy pass to Yao, and on the other end they will run as hard as they can and make our bigs useless and tired.

    WE HAVE TO CONTROL TEMPO

Baron Davis will murder Rafer Alston so bad, but we have Battier and McGrady who can give problems to the Warriors 2 and 3 men. Chuck Hayes should also defend well against their power forward Stephen Jackson, lol.
