Rafer listed as a "Notable" point guard in Wikipedia

    I'm neither bashing nor praising Rafer here. However, I noticed Wikipedia lists Rafer as a "Notable" point guard:

    "Notable current point guards include Baron Davis, Allen Iverson, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, T.J. Ford, and Rafer Alston. Great point guard who played in the past include Oscar Robertson, John Stockton, Magic Johnson and Lenny Wilkens."

    Technically this is correct. When a guy only takes wide-open shots and he still can't make any, it's pretty "Notable", right?

    Hey, they fixed the Wikipedia entry. Heh, V-Span was removed by Rafer is still there :eek:

    Oh, the joys of Wikipedia. The Encyclopedia that anyone can write crap into.

    Blatant vandalism (editing George W. Bush articles into "He's a r****ded chimp.") will be found and fixed in short time. Speculation, rumors, or things which are not strictly defined (Rafer being "notable") will persist, no matter how silly they are.

    I got in a war with a guy in the Planet Terror article. He kept saying that it took place in the rural town of Austin and I kept saying it was just a rural texas town. We reached a compromise, "rural town outside of Austin" and i had to accept that even though I knew it wasn't true

    Guess Rafer's not as bad you all make him out to be.



    He was pretty well known because the New York baskeball and the AND1 series.

    1. Worthy of note or notice; remarkable
    2. Characterized by excellence or distinction; eminent

    If you select a handful of players to represent current NBA point guards, Rafer should not be among them. Notable ommisions include Tony Parker, Chauncey Billups, and Gilbert Arenas.

    Skip 2 My Lou is a notable street baller. Rafer Alston is not a notable NBA point guard.

    He's notable alright...

    We will never get anywhere without a good PG. I am not asking for an all-star, just a solid starting-calibre PG, not the trash of the league.

    I know, easier said than done...at least in the Rockets' case.
