That is what I heard as well. Plus, I wouldn't consider "just" a late second rounder a fair compensation for moving up 11 spots and into the top 10.
That puts Schaub's value around where most NFL types had projected... in the mid-first round range. That said, if this deal with the Broncos goes down, I hope there's either a third/fourth rounder this year or a third rounder next year, because it falls 160 points short on the draft chart (which I know isn't official, but it is a significant discrepancy).
Rick Smith just said on the radio, that they have not even talked to the Broncos, but was open to this type of trading possibility. He said he's never even heard of this 1 reporter who begn this story.
It's hard to believe anything anybody says at this point. If there is a deal in place, it won't happen until the Texans are on the clock (at the earliest). I would hope to pick up one of the Broncos 3rd rounder to go along with their 1st and 2nd.
I expect at least 2, possibly 3, of the top 10 picks to be traded away on draft day. Possibly more depending on who goes when.
I'm not sure about that. There wasn't a single trade in the Top 10 last draft and there were much much better players. Other than AP, I don't see a player that teams would give up picks for.
