i would put deron higher up on that option list than okur. and defense wasnt the problem, youre right.
I didn't follow the season enough when James was playing with us, but that video showed all of what you just described!
We have no argument then. All I'm saying is that Rafer is a below average starting PG. He is still probably just as valuable to the team as Tmac and Yao(no exaggeration) because there are no other NBA caliber PGs on the roster. As for him being the scapegoat, I think its because A) He was part of a bad trade for the Rockets and B) He gets like 45 min a nite while scrubs like JHO and Luther get 20.
That would be hilarious to a fan of another team. I'm surprised no one has blamed the Battier trade for the loss.
I don't really agree with that analogy. Players aren't intrinsically PGs or SGs. When Luther is asked to play point, he's our point guard. And he's generally not very good in that role.
Yeah, that would never fit in with Yao/TMac ... except for when it did <span style="font-size:9px;">[©SamFisher]</span>. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RBxedLwMbqo"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RBxedLwMbqo" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> I didn't create those threads and they've all got the players' names in the title.
durvasa - net +/- only shows the difference between that player and his substitute. It means Rafer is better than all the other PG's on our team. It DOES NOT mean that Rafer is a good PG relative to other PG's in the league.
Dude, read my OP. This has been dating ever since he has donned a Rocket jersey. He's a street baller. When he converted to an NBA player, he had to hang up the street ballin' and try to be an NBA player. I understand Yao and T-Mac have their offensive plays when Rafer brings the ball down the court. But there has to be at times besides bricking 3s that Rafer can to drive to the basket and be aggressive. I rarely see that from him. How the hell does Yao and T-Mac have confidence in this guy who generates the offense night in and night out? You guys dog Mike James. The dude had balls when it came to taking that shot. When he needed to him to be aggressive and drive to go the line, he did that. Rafer doesn't have it.
The way we have structured the team- it is Rafer and Luther who will decide our fate ( and JHO)- it is our bench versus their bench. We did not deserve to win game 3- that is how horrible our offense was in the 4th quarter ( and this is the damn playoffs!) This team goes into a slack mode fairly quickly! 33-0 is really an aberration. I will bet you money they will show up next game- and we will get back to the 10-15 differential in scoring, which basically means we win. Although I have never been a Rafer or Jho fan- I will not really pin this on one player- we sucked collectively!
Yeah, ok. "If Deron wants to pass by him he will do that". If that was the case he would pass by him every time and create easy layups, dunks and foul trouble. Are you serious?
I hate the And 1 show personally. It's not even legal basketball. How can you defend a player when the dude can run with the ball or carry it for 5 seconds. Judging from a lot of the people who do support Rafer, they don't seem like And 1 show lovers either.
I didn't. He was traded for a reason. We didn't accompolish anything with him at all so somebody please explain how it worked. Oh, and don't tell me we took Dallas to 7 games because we got blown out by 40 points and the Playoffs were a large reason as to why he was traded. Plus, this is a different Dallas team. When we make it out of the first round with Rafer we will have accomplished more with him then Mike James. I can understand the fact that people criticize Rafer and think we need to get a backup (or in some people's cases a new starter) but I can't believe Mike James comes up. It's so obvious the guy is a ball hog who can't co-exist with anyone. He lost his job in Minny too. If you want to bring back the old Mike James who played for Detroit and the one who played within the game when he first got here fine but he's become a selfish player who only cares about himself. Not a good fit for us. He was supposed to be Minny's big addition and look how that blew up. Why not mention Atkins or another solid NBA guard, with James you're brining in possible trouble and a bad attitude. I think we learned our lesson by now.
Actually, if the truth be told it seems the only shots Rafer hits are Clutch ones. Also, yeah James has balls because he thinks he's an All-Star level player who can take over games. He took shots from TMac when TMac was in the zone in the Playoffs until he had to get yelled at. He's a selfish player. he got his contract and what did he do this year. Cry, play poorly, hog the ball, piss off KG, and become trade bait. We don't need any more Bonzi Wells situations on this team. Go after a solid vetran or draft Pruitt from USC if he's still there.
