Looking ahead I would say it looks as though Howard and Mutombo have zero to contribute to the game.
It is about time that the fog which clouds our minds and vision should clear and we stop being sentimental about these players who are well past being serious factors of our NBA team.
If we don't make it out of the first round it should mean serious change again in our roster.
The 2007/2008 Coach of the Rockets will need to develop a cometetive bench, we can't have a team of two offensive players or a coach who is unable/refuses to coach/ develop young talent and his role players.
By this point in the season we should have a third option, two Point Guards and a killer three point shooter. THe entire Rockets organization was disgraced by yesterday's performance.

man it was a bad game, no doubt, but to blame the whole organization is pushing it.

the rox are still in control 2-1 with hca, as much of a concern it was to see yesterday's game, rox are in a pretty good spot. time to hit panic button is still quite far away

the 3rd quarter was the ugliest quarter of basketball i have ever seen. It was an absolute shocker. I find it disgusting that only 4 players scored tonight and showed up. Apparently according to the Adidas adds it takes 5 to win. But hell we only had 4 out of like 10 show up.
Rockets have shot really badly the last 3 games, but in game 3 we had so many open looks. I doubt the rockets will shoot under 40% for 4 straight games I do believe rockets will take game 4. Because I think the players will wanna redeem themselves from the poor play of game 3

man people in here said after games 1 and 2 the shooting couldn't get any worse, but unbelievably it DID. i'm with everybody here, it just can't get any worse than game 3, but if for some impossible reason that it does, i'm not sure i'm going to look on this board, it will be too depressing toe see all the responses.

game 3 was ugly, and saying that, i honestly do not believe that the rox can shoot any worse.

some of you are really overreacting to this loss.

i think this loss is just what this team needs right now. the team had been playing terrible, but still winning. maybe they need this loss to get that sense of urgency going.

we have got to get SOMETHING from our bench. 0 points is completely unacceptable.

damn, we could sure use a tough guy like bonzi right about now.....

I think it's safe to say that the Rockets need to improve a few things. I believe we are going to make it through this series; however, there are a couple of things we need to adjust in order to compete with Dallas/Golden State.

    1. McGrady needs to handle the double team on the perimeter better. He comes out way too much on the pressure and should instead maybe look to hit a man cutting to the goal. This is something Gundy should work with his players on.

    2. Yao NEEDS to learn to protect the ball. Dallas and Golden State have a lot of players with quick hands that will disturb Yao in the post. Either he needs to accept the entry pass and shoot in one motion, which he is capable of doing considering his height and shooting touch. Or he needs to consider passing out of the double team much quicker to hit an open man.

    3. Going off of number 2, we need to nail our 3-pointers. I think our players are going to come around with the 3s and they will start hitting them with some consistency. Shane showed some signs of life in game 3. Luther just needs to shake those nerves off and Rafer gets looks, just needs to knock them down.

    4. Yao needs to move laterally on defense. This may be difficult considering his size, but if that's the case, then we need to devise a plan to get him some help on Boozer. Oh, and we need to stop sleeping on Harpring. He's killing us on the backdoor cuts and easy layups. Luther actually played some lackadazical defense while he was on Harpring. If we can shut down Harpring, I think we can contain the mini-spurts that the Jazz go on.

Thanks I needed that laugh, its like he's turning his head toward his crotch, I think most of us would instictively turn our face away from an opposing players crotch.

In addition to hitting wide open jump shots, Alston needs to learn how to feed the post better. Part of the problem is Yao not sealing off his defender.

Yao needs to keep the ball high when he makes his move and turns to shoot. He's getting stripped too often. I think the offensive fouls early in the game affected his aggresiveness.

McGrady needs to take more high percentage shots. We all know he can hit those 20ft fade aways, but attacking the basket is more effecient.

Howard should be hitting those open jumpers at the elbow. No excuses.

Battier has no handles. He should just spot up in the corner and shoot three pointers when the ball rotates to him. When he drives the baseline, the Jazz trap him under the basket and he has no where to go. If the three pt shot isn't there, pass the ball or fake the shot, take one dribble and pull up for the mid range jumper.

Going 10+ minutes without a field goal is unacceptable. We didn't deserve to win.

Anyone see the White T-Mac in the lower left corner? :D

Maybe T-Mak was worried about how Jazz fans would treat his son in the stands.

McGrady has been a disappointment in this series so far. With all the talk and hype he was saying before the playoffs started, it's unacceptable for him to be shooting 37 percent from the field and 27 % from 3 point land. How many times did he drive in this game? According to my calculations he drove exactly 1 time the whole game.

Yao should be owning Okur, but yet he can't get positioning and forcing shots outside of his comfort area. Everytime he touches the ball now, it either gets stripped and stolen or results in a 15 foot fadeaway J.

What the **** is wrong with Head. He used to be money from outside especially after coming back from injury and now he's shooting 12.5 percent for the series. Whether it's playoff jitters or he's cold now, he better straighten up his play if we want to have any chance of winning the series. Getting 0 points off the bench is unacceptable.

If we don't come out with a better effort in the 4th game, then I don't like our chances of winning the series.

You really have no clue about basketball. Yao's problem in this game is turnover!!! His shooting was subpar, but still better than anybody else in this team.

The Jazz we're going to win 1 or 2 games. So let's not panic, the pressure is on them to win game 4. We should be lose, however, Jeff has to consider giving some of Head's minutes to Kirk. Harping is killing Luther at the 2 spot and Luther is giving us nothing on the offensive end.

    I like this lineup
    Yao
Tmac pulls Boozer out of the lane
    Battier
Snyder (no threes short jumpers and drives)
    Rafer

I watched the game last night, or at least I thought I watched the game. The time was right. The channel was right. Even the uniforms were correct. What I saw looked like a WWF wrestling match. That wasn't a basketball game it was a 60 minute time limit, no holds barred, chain fence, death match. My goodness where were the refs? I know the home team gets some "home court" calls. But, this game was out of control. It was a damned slugfest, not a basketball game.

I know everyone wants to A-fire JVG; B-trade T-Mac, C-bench Yao and D-play VSpan, TSak and E-wish Bonzi was out there. I know its all JVG's fault. However, I don't care who the coach might be if the bench scores Zero points, the team makes 32 perr cent of their shots and can't play basketball like they were headliners in the WWF, they are going to lose. :D

There is no reason the Rockets should have lost that game. If the Rockets were smart, they'd look at some shooting video drills because there were too many open missed shots.
