They ARE our bench scoring, yet they failed in game 1 and 2 so I thought they will show up tonight...

    Guess what? 0-10

You want to blame other players? Don't. You want to blame JVG? Don't. Not after both of these guys showed JVG that they were capable of carrying the scoring load during the regular season.

They need to step it up.

IT is NOT a question of stepping up. Luther is simply being owned by Having to guard bigger and stronger cards and got repeateadly burned by Giricek for sagging on him. We had the shots- but this is exactly our weakness. Coaches can strategise but if our bench is like this- we really have issues. And not to mention the referees in UTah !

They missed wide open shots. It didn't have anything to do with refs, they just missed shots. So is not reasonable to ask them to make wide open shots?

now do you see why Josh Howard said he couldn't name a player from our bench?

Juwan is SOFT. I can't believe some people thought that if we had had him 2 years ago versus Dallas things would be different. If anything we would've sucked more, Juwan's SOFT game is no match for the Playoffs.

    EXACTLY!!!!

If Juwan had played that series, Dirk would have exploded for 30+ each game.

Juwan couldnt guard anyone on Mavricks.

It was a blessing in disguise.

He missed the series because of his heart problem.

I've said it a hundred times. Juwan and Yao playing together is HORRIBLE. When Juwan is not hitting that that jump shot, he is beyond useless.

Unfortunately, Luther is the same thing. If he ain't hitting the 3 ball, he is totally useless. He can't defend, he can't handle, and he has no midrange game or ability to finish or draw fouls. The only thing he can do is shoot so when it ain't goin', he is a huge negative drag on our team. I had to laugh when Clyde was suggesting that since his jumper wasn't falling, that he should drive to the basket. What a joke.

BTW, Rafer had 5 turnovers. He was a total nonfactor.

Juwan stepped it up big time when Yao went out... He is capable of doing that. Like I said, he just needs to step it up and be confident to knock down those wide open 15 ft jump shots.

Rafer had 5 TOs but you can count at least 1 or 2 were due to bad catches from Yao. He had to play 45 mins for god sake... Don't blame it on him please... I am no Rafer lover but he did ok today. 2/5 (1 of the shots were late in 4th when we were down by 14 so he rushed a 3) 7 rebs 5 ast 1 steal 1 block those are respectable numbers for someone who has to play 40+ mins every night and run the offense.

well our bench player's offensive move is really one dimentional...thus they suks in a playoff series. same with okur, you may think he suks, but the reason why we can shut him down is because hes one dimentional.

The bench has played this way the whole series...not just tonight...

Head and Howard are 2-14 and 2-16 for the series...thats like 13% shooting....they could close their eyes and make that. Perhaps they should have joined Bonzi in leaving the team for its own good.

The Rockets bench is the worst of all the playoff teams...the Suns have guys like Jalen Rose who don't even play that are better than every bench player we have.

With the lack of quality minutes from the bench...our starters have to play 40-45 minutes a game...and they are wearing down....the Jazz are bringing in good players at 6, 7 & 8...even Milsap (#9) is more athletic than all our bigs except maybe Chuck.

This game was really no different than Game 1 or 2...Game one was nearly exactly the same...but Boozer only scored 11 pts...and tonight he got double.

In Game 2. We got 12 from Hayes...tonight we didn't...other than that...everyone else pretty much did the same...we did out FT them by 21 shots in Game2...which offset Boozer's 41 pts.

We've gotten 51, 57 and 50 from Yao and Tracey...but the rest of the team has scored 33 & 41 in the two wins and only 17 in the loss.

    Its not Tracey and Yao.....

Had JVG somehow intergrated VSpan, Bonzi, or even Novac into the lineup during 82 games in the regular season we would not be seeing this pathetic bench right now. JVG is too stubborn for his own good.

I just watched the Lakers game and saw S. Williams (what's his first name again), a basic scrub, play a vital role in an important playoff game. You bet the same thing will never happen to the Rockets as long as JVG is the coach.

Phil has a far superior resume compared to JVG. I would expect him to be better at making adjustments.

    Kinda unfair comparison...
