I think our season could depend on one of these three things happening:

a.) trading from our SF depth to acquire a solid big man.
b.) Mo Taylor being ready quickly
c.) Griffin emerging and able to play effective minutes at center

Since we haven't seen Griffin yet, this is very much up in the air. How much stronger has he gotten?

Cato has looked VERY solid. He's started shooting from the baseline about 12 footers. It looks like he's trying to develop that type of game to go with it, and he's made a few of them. Both of the Davis' developed that later in their careers, and it looks like Cato is as well. he's cutting to the basket, and his hands are much better, especially rebounding. I was hoping for Marc Jackson because getting another solid big man would allow Cato to not have to pace himself. That will probably have to wait another year, but I'm guessing it will happen, because Les showed the willingness to do so this year.

WRT Griffin, I know he is young and may still have a growth spurt ahead of him, but ...

    Griffin is a rookie.
    Griffin is barely an adult.
Griffin may take years to add another 30 lbs to his frame, if ever.
Griffin may never weigh more than 230 his entire NBA career.
    etc.

All this talk of Griffin playing the 5 is ridiculous, especially this year. I expect Griffin to play the 4 this year and average 10-15 minutes a game. I also expect Rudy T to slowly let Griffin grow mentally, emotionally, and physically into an NBA player.

There is no rush. Remember KG did not break out until his second year, which was an exception to the rule. If it take Griffin 3 or more years to have his break out year, so be it.

Lets see, we have 1 power forward, there are 48 minutes in a game and someone thinks the Griffin will only get 10-15 min per? For some reason, I don't think can play 38min per without getting in foul trouble. The idea about Rice at the 4 sometimes is crazy and will not work. Griffin is our future, sorry Taylor, but why are we treating as though he's made of glass. I don't know about anyone else, but I've never seen a potential baketball star treated so much like a b@#$% in my life. This is not football, and he's not a qb. Lets let him play, see what we got and go from there. He's couldn't be worse than most of our options.

"The Griffin?" See, Cat, I'm not the only one!:D

Leebigez: I agree! The Griffin needs minutes. He's got to prove his potential, and, IMO, he will.

laker articles dont have people building up scrubs to be hall of famers and bashing other organizations for doing the right thing. if the lakers and rockets swapped rosters that article will probably be all like "mark madsen- mad potential, medvedenko-next larry bird, peter cornell-find of the year, undrafted but hes the next wilt chamberlain, devean george=shawn marion, jelani mccoy=jermaine oneal, etc...."

    laker articles are realistic

Jeff or other admin's, do we really have these kinds of posts go without comment now? After all the debate over banning the N-word we all should have at least realized that even if it wasn't banned we should still not let the word be used without extreme disapproval. So how is this any different?

I'm not asking for a f-ban by I am quite dissapointed that no one on this BBS has expressed dissapointment over the language of these posters. I alo think it would be appropriate for an admin to edit their posts and remove the offending words. And next time people, speak up. Don't let this message board degenerate to an ESPN type board....

You're exactly right, dylan. I thought about it when I read the posts in question, but I did nothing. I should have spoke up.

It would help if people could just learn to leave the trolls alone...or put them on ignore. I don't think anyone is exactly worried about missing out on an enlightening post by shaqkobe.

Oh cmon, rocksM, you know BTM doesn't reply to logic. All he does is tell us how stupid we are for not thinking the way he does and how stupid we are for thinking the way we do, and tells us we are morons when we try to give him facts about the subject. BTM...the next warriors GM!

    in regards to my comment:

I realize its no excuse for the outburst , but I was in an exceptionally bad mood that day and that little shaq/kobe a*s kisser irritates me with every post he makes. The comment just slipped and I really did not mean any disrespect to our gay Rockets brethren.

Take the above for what it is, an apology, and not what you think it means.

    /Rant time
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, I resent the implication that I'm a troll. I have been here for a long time and am just as much a diehard Rox fan as the most fanatical of you. I have never posted crap just to see what kind of reaction it would get..I post what my opinion for all to see and if that makes me a troll....then ignore me...I could give a rats a*s.

btw, as far as putting me on ignore....it wont change the current state of affairs one iota....very few of you notice what I say anyway.:p

    You guys are amazing.

Ever heard of Isaiah Rider? He's a great player but also a cancer. Players can be great but also big-time assholes at the same time. Get that, Severe Idiot Fan?

Jackson puts up great stats on a crapy team(like Ike Austin). There are also other players putting up great stats on GS, but not as good as Jax. Therefor, Jackson is the best of the bunch on GS. If he were to come here, he would not do well enough to warrant his contract because his stats are massively inflated on GS and would diminish greatly coming to a fringe playoff team like the Rocks.

Logic? Severe Idiot Fan, do you know the meaning of the word?

p.s: Learn to make an arguement without twisting words. It will help you in life.

    laker articles are realistic

Would these be the same articles that say their team today is one of the greatest ever, or the articles that put Kobe in the MJ status on a constant basis? That dosen't seem very realistic to me.
