Exactly!! The reason he left the Spurs was because the Spurs didn't offer him another contract, that's how Pop handled him!!
They did offer him a contract- his agent chose and advised not to respond. The Spurs had plans for him at the time and wanted him back.....
Jackson jacks up horrible shots man, it looks like he's in the flow when he plays with the Warriors but believe me if he were on the Rockets he would still jack up an insane amount of shots.
Just does not have the right attitude and class to play in the NBA. And I dont think he will ever get along with JVG. He already thinks he is the star. He just proved himself as an idiot last night when he just wouldnt shut up and walk off the court after getting ejected....now he put himself on leagues officials radar whether to suspend him for his actions or not and put his team in jeopardy for the playoffs.
GSW are just trying to dump him before May 10. After that who knows maybe he'll be in jail for 2-8 years if he's found guilty.
I think Jackson would be a great fit. I think the character concerns are completely overblown. Other than the Detroit incident on the court he has had very few problems. On the championship Spurs team he knew his role and filled it nicely. He would be a great addition to this team not only because he can shoot well from behind the arc, is big, plays good D, but because he can go to the hoop which is what the Rockets really lack right now. Raefer can penetrate but not finish. Head is only slightly better than Raefer at going to the hole. Battier is not quick enough. Snyder is the best driver to the hole other than Tmac. A problem the rockets face is opponents slack off to help with Yao and Tmac, but the rockets are pretty much a jump shooting team when the ball is moved around. They sorely need a player that can finish after pump faking from behind the arc. Snyder is the only person Ive seen do this. Jackson displayed great poise in those playoffs. I can remember a few games when he hit a big three to stop the bleeding or finish a run, and a couple of nice takes to the hole. Van Gundy is a good coach and he will be close to home. Can you argue against what he did while he was with the Spurs?
